G'day, even though I'm inactive at the moment I'm still keeping up to date and figured I'd share my antag thoughts considering a surprisingly large number of people messaged me in game or on skype or in my dreams about my thoughts on the antag after I made that post on the 'Your View: LOTC" thing.

So, here is

How the1bow would book the Antag when the GMs decide to do it whenever that may be

The following is something I wrote 2 hours after coming off of general anaesthesia and didn't really put much thought into how I wrote it, so if it comes across as utterly retarded, that is what I will blame it on. Its a bit linear and slightly more staff dictated then I think the antag should be, but you get the idea.

Feel free to critique or leave your thoughts/ideas on the antag b'low.

So im gonna write this as if im pitching a movie, not in kayfabe talk or in rp like a forum post. Alright;

As the end of Vailor draws near you do one of those global forum posts that show up in that list of three posts at the top of the LotC website, where the ‘important’ stuff goes. You do an RP post that basically says something like a portal or gateway or irregularity has happened, maybe throw in a cool build to boot of some well designed and ‘makes sense in RP’ land scarring, feature in photos of that at the bottom of the post, provide cords so people can check it out. During the forum post you mention that before the portal closed because it only opened briefly, something came out, something big. That’s all you say about it. Before the heat of this event dies down you discreetly do a bounty post saying that there is “something big” lurking around the general vicinity of the event site. Don’t make the reward too big because you want it to seem as if its nothing too special, just some sort of mini event but because the portal event still has traction, people will go suss it out.

You kill everyone that tries to go for it. ET get flack for going into kill but you man the **** up and you kill. When I say kill, I mean you kill them before they can comprehend/RPly see what this thing looks like. You let the victims SS though so they don’t get butthurt and it keeps the buzz on this. After a while, you raise the bounty, and continue to do so until it is some insane amount, more than the devourerererer. That’s when you do another ‘important section’ forum post about this thing.

BANG a 10ft freak beast wall of muscle covered in spikes and **** with godlike strength and OP speed is running around vailor, its murdered everyone who has come in contact with it, viewers descression is advised. You know acknowledge this on the bounty post and up the reward again, but instead of having people come and find it, you do random events and go hunting for people but still let them SS. You keep forum posting warnings and **** and build hype around it but you paint it out to be killable so people still think they have a chance. Then, you up the bounty a final time t something unheard of. That’s when you put in a notice, a PK notice. If you are killed by this monster, you PK.

Wtf? Ikr crazy. People will ***** and moan but you stick to it. Obviously there will be a backlash and heat will die off this event line because of the PK, that’s why you stop going in for the kill, you just maim the **** out of people and instill the fear of, “****, my hooded emotionless and for some reason always tired elf might die here.” But kill when its applicable. People will most likely stop hunting for this beast, so you crank up the random events, and make it clear that it has ceased to be about killing it, but about survival, people should run when they encounter it. Now comes the real ****. You start going after settlements, destruction in mind.

Start with small nation affiliated settlements or even inactive ones just to purge them, beat the **** out of them and half destroy them in a way to make them look cool and ruined, but no longer habitable. People will rebuild of course, so you keep coming back. Then you progress to nation capitals, start beating the **** out of them too, people try to stop you RPly speaking, murder them. Leave Vailor in ruins.

As we go towards the map change to 5.0, you advertise a server wide event or something where everyone gets together and what not to kill this thing. It’ll be a clusterfuck, so just kick any dipshit who trolls or spams. Not sure how you would pull this off with purpely RP, there would most likely need to be PvP thrown in but **** im not an ET you work it out. So all the races or groups and such gather to kill this thing.

And they get ******* crunched. Nothing they do work, and they are forced into retreat. Then over the next couple weeks you bring in an event character, an Aengul or something, a holy deity with a magic weapon that swears that he will be able to kill the monster. The playerbase pouts, “this is what always happens!” because they think that this event character will be the hero and their grunts wont get to do ****. And you let them think this.

Another server wide event, this holy guy v the monster guy. Being a cookie cutter babyface, the holy person 1v1s the monster, but because inclusion, everyone is present to watch but there is a barrier in the way or some thing that means no one can get past it on either side, but everyone can see whats gonna happen. Again, kick any dipshit who trolls. Fight starts off with a bit of banter from the holy guy, just to make it seem as generic as possible and then BAM, the monster grabs him, disembowels him, snaps his neck, throws him at the barrier then fucks off. :O

As Vailor is now ending and the map change is imminent, you do one final slightly more low-key event, and have the monster get killed. BUT!!!1 You let a random peasent dude do it. Not a noble or famous character, or a GMs character, or nation leader or cliquey character, just a random player, headshot, boom, game over. Vailor is borderlined destroyed, inhabitable. The descendents have to leave. They travel to 5.0.

Its not the end though. The antag continues over to the next map.

When we arrive we discover the new land is inhabited by either a new or separate race or culture, take your pick. They are extremely sophisticated, but they are fucked up. Early on we realize that these people through the use of darkish or some sort of magic you can make up created the beast that cunted up Vailor. These…people…they made that thing!!21. Theyre as much a monster as that thing was!@32. Pure evil. So we start killing them, gets events going right off the bat. For nations to claim land for their settlements they have to take over or atleast kill this existing race/culture that lives already on that land. Then you have a series of events where all that is left are women and children, We kill them too, because we cant let such an evil exist.

As we settle in to the new map, and nations get built etc. soon after all this happens, we discover some relics or tomes or some **** that gives us an insight to who these peoplee were. They were a declining race/culture that once was prominent but they weren’t physically able to adapt or cope to their environment or whatever so in the hopes to keep their race/culture alive they tried to create a perfect version of themselves. This went completely ******* wrong and made that monster which ravaged the **** out of them but before it could destroy them they used their magic to send it some place else.

They weren’t actually inherently evil.

This now puts into question who was right and who was wrong in this scenario, albeit shakily.

Scattered across the map you have cool ruin builds and dungeons for exploring containing relics and info about this now defunct civilization ripe for events setting up **** to do after the antag.

Fin.

I feel oddly drawn to this idea as much as it would probably piss me off, it sounds like a fantastic way to piss everyone off. +1

I still maintain that it can be done, but that there are very few who have the management ability and creativity to make an antagonist. Likewise, these very few would need to be able to make the antagonist in its entirety rather than being co-opted into another person's idea and system to make said very few look bad. Point of reference: When I was thrown into the Undead 2.0 team started up by Urasept. That sh*t wasn't going to work.

Not horrible ideas but I'd prefer for the server to have no antag and encourage nation conflict
