That is not very good... Defcon 5 is the lowest. I'm being serious, how are you protecting people on the forums, how are you protecting them in game?

You're not going to get hacked for just being on the server, there's genuinely nothing they can do to help you because it's on you to make sure your password is secure and you haven't got a keylogger. The reason why the forums got hit as well is because the staff member clearly had one password for most of their things, which is a security fault in itself. You're in-charge of keeping your things safe, no one else.

Perhaps it could be the opposite, the website is insecure itself, I don't have the same passwords for the site and anything else. BUT lets say tythus is the worst at security and every password is stored in plain text somewhere on the website. You have no way of knowing if somebody has done something malicious.

I assure you that the passwords aren't simply stored in a plain text.

This is embarrassing, I kind of took his word for granted and didn't put in any thought. Well then!

No we are certainly taking it more seriously than that. ;p

Frankly, there's nothing they can do for your IG password or email. If you let those things slip, especially your email, you're boned. If you haven't migrated your account and you're just using your username, you're double boned.

If the forum passwords were compromised, you'd know. That's really all there is to say about that. Don't place this huge mantle of responsibility on the staff. If you're stupid, your account will get taken from you. It's really that simple.
