MANDATORY PASSWORD RESET!

Hi guys,

It has just been brought to my attention that there may of been a possibility that sometime in 2015 our database was partially breached as of such I have just forced all users to reset their passwords before they can regain access to the forums. I would also advise if you share this password with any other website to change those too as they may also be compromised from this and that you should never use the same password on multiple sites.

Thank you for your time and patience,

Tythus

EDIT: If you are having trouble restoring your password or lost your email, we are able to restore it via AdminCP. Please contact GMs in-game via modreq in order to resolve this. We need to be certain it is you to make these changes, otherwise the point of the reset is for naught.

Here's a nice little site if you'd like to generate a really secure password for your forum account!

https://lastpass.com/generatepassword.php

also first haha

Bad suggestion I think. The issue with these generators is that they generate passwords that a computer would be able to easily guess. Your best bet is to make your password a sentence and add strings of numbers.

Very scary you just realized this now.

The issue is unlike most password grabs is they didn't leave any evidence behind usually if someone has access to the passwords they also nuke the site or do something else but these guys didn't

Not entirely but the difficulty of learning them possibly outweighs the benefits they could give (protection from bruteforce/dictionary attacks).

Of course you could use them (computer-generated password with very high entropy) in combination with a client-side password manager (nowadays the smart choice for most people) which would net you the benefits of both.

Also if anyone links the XCKD comic on passwords I will hunt them down and pugsy them.

Keemsupreme69, whilst a stylish and correct password, isn't very good for security.

Should've warned us. Been trying to reset my main account's password for 30 minutes. Didn't work untill 5 seconds ago. Could've lost my account to this bullshit.
