A new player's thoughts on Orcs

Hey, guys!

Friendly neighbourhood Boomzerang. It's come to my attention (And the attention of a lot of other orcs) that our community's a bit... Dried up, if you will. This is just a quick post to say, "Yes, hello, we still exist!" and if orcs seem like something you'd enjoy playing, check out our subforum, read up on what kind of RP we provide, PM an orc if you're still not sure. It might seem a little intimidating at first - having to learn a new language and all, habin' tu type liek diz , but orcs offer rich RP, and while I haven't played on the server much, barely anything compared to some players, I can say that orcs are the only race I've seen so far that strive to give their players as much as they do.

One example would be, we're looking into getting a bunch more hunts started, making use of the jungle biome, with truckloads of potential animals. This’ll provide you with something to do if you're just not in the mood for tavern or road RP. speaking of Tavern RP, orcs can one-up it. Instead of simply chatting with friends, why not feast and drink to your heart’s content, telling tales of battles to the cubs while sat around a campfire? We also provide expansive religion RP, worshipping spirits, gaining their favour, and, in turn, becoming ‘champions’ (and causing the end of the world...) through not only the sacrifice of other races, but through other means, such as carrying out their wills, such as creating weaponry for the spirit of smithing, and offering and writing books to the spirit of knowledge. We try to host a variety of events, too, from whitewash hunting, to battling huge beasts, like Cyclops, Corrupt Ologs, even previously worshipped spirits! If you enjoy RP or PvP fighting, then orcs are perfect for you! Our culture revolves a lot around strength and fighting. Solving arguments, claiming ownership of something, even just for fun - Orcish klomps are the ultimate multi tool.

The orcish race might not appeal to everyone - it’s not supposed to. It’s not, however, a very ‘niche’ thing, and in my honest opinion, orcs deserve a much bigger playerbase. Not all orcs are insane, PvP craving warmachines, and we are essentially the same as every other race. Just a little greener and more violent. If you have any questions, post them here. I’ll be more than happy to answer if I can, and if I can’t, I’m sure some other orcs wouldn’t mind answering a few queries either!

With highway bandit being much easier in Axios, I think it will start to be a lot more prevalent. I know that a lot of Orcs have started to prefer RP fighting as opposed to PVP (I'll admit that that might be partially due to the removal of the Orc buff) and when banditing you deal with smaller crowds, so you can at least potentially RP the fight instead of defaulting to PVP.

As an Orc main, I proudly Approve of this.

Many think of us as, well, Simply put, Monsters. They, and some orcs fail to realize we have emotions, just anger issues.

For example:My orc lost his eyes recently, when his 'Friends' Heard of this, they immediatly banded together to get a sacrafice to get them back. They cared for me, and I care for them.

 

Be an Orc, not an monster.

Orcs are a race based around raiding, slaving, pillaging, sacrifice, shamanism, hunting and all that in-between.

 

Y'all need to start raiding more, slaving more and just becoming more of a threat around the map. That's when I remember the Orcs were at their prime, when they just messed everything and everyone up without real thought or politics put into it.

This is where the circle starts again, we could potentially, and should definately, be an active threat. This requires numbers, active members, a good distribution of gear, an active leadership that is also represented in roleplay a lot and cares to create roleplay for its members. 

 

Orcs are currently lacking in that first departement. The group of active orc 'mains' if you will, has shrunk down to a pathetic 15-20, from which about 5-10 are a daily player. We would love to see this change!

Its because we enter with the intent to roleplay, the first week or so. We don't bring gear because at the time some didn't have it, had no acces to it yet, or didn't bring it again, because they/we were there for roleplay.

 

It happens too often that it starts out in innocent roleplay, one maybe two get caught out in the rumble.

Ok. You get killed one time, you stop coming, that's what a normal person would do. Instead, you decided to come back multiple times, over and over, with what intention? Attacking new and old players alike in FRONT of the gates of the biggest RP hub on the server hasn't, is not, and will NEVER be fun.

 

I haven't had fun with "serious" Orc RP since late Athera, as your entire culture doesn't make any sense and your bloodlust is once again ignored and only brought back when it suits you. I might be generalizing but this is the only kind of Roleplay I have seen coming from orcs.

 

 

Also, stop using "muh culture, muh desert RP" as an excuse, you yourself know that it's simply an excuse to, once again, attack people.

Also if you read 2 comments up you see ggt say "The orcs are supposed to be a threat". We come back to the gate because we get our minimal amount of fun messing with people, being a threat, all until that meta or non meta 'force' shows up. As of late you should've noticed we haven't come to joburg anymore because, ineed, its not possible to commit proper villany in here, unless its at a lower pop hour.

For the record, adding some info to the gentelmen named Hedgehug:
1) We came in Oren Capital 2 times, regardless both times were called 'raids', even we came with no gear for actual RP.

 

2) All we did in the first time, we came for revenge, seeking for Guard Captain, and we were trapped in the square by other Oren players. 5 minutes later, Boom, 20 people that wants to kill us.

 

3) For the second time we came for another RP. We needed sacrifices for the Lak Clan Ceremony and we heard that there was a whitewash crossbreed uruk hiding in J-burg. So of course we choose him as our victim. This time, thanks to adequate players, we resolved it all in RP, without any harm or RP faiting.
