AN OPEN LETTER TO THE WARHAWKES

jPpbm3P.png

Warhawkes,

The name itself was the first throwoff for me, as if war is the way of the mali. In bestowing yourself a name which ties you to aggression and killing, you have already strayed.

Yet, there was a time when I had grown to respect you. I saw your population grow sizable and your goals of a strong elven race respectable, even if you had fundamental disagreements on how that goal should be realized. Indeed, it was this respect that encouraged me to invite you to the negotiations table in Vailor and extend to you an olive branch. Sadly, it seemed this branch was ignored in lieu of vassalizing under the bandit nation of the Dreadlands.

Now, that respect I had for the Warhawkes had slowly bled away, and the last drops oozed out tonight when I heard that you had stormed into Ker’nor, endangered the lives of the innocent there, and attempted to execute a pregnant dark elven woman. All under the pretense of “freeing the dark elven race”.

Now, let’s ignore the main point for a moment, and address the freedom of the dark elven race. The mali’ker, under Dak’ir Des’nox, who has so faithfully led them for centuries now, chose their own home here on Axios. They practice their own faith, and in their new mountain home their population booms. You jeered at Dak’irs following in Vailor, and I warned you that population and prosperity is as fickle as the tides, I was right, and now the bulk of ‘ker reside in the Dominion.

Have any of them complained about this imagined lack of freedom you impose on them? They have not. It is just that, imagined, by you, a buzzword and a false brand you put on an entire group of people who live their lives contently, because of the spite you have for their leader. If the dark elves found themselves unfree, there would be nothing binding them to stay in Ker’nor, but most of the race does.

So, how do you attempt to release this race from these make-believe shackles of oppression you’ve invented for them? Why, you barge into their city and slaughter, of course! What better way to be seen as liberators than to intrude, invade, and slay the friends and families of those you wish to see join you? This is not just immoral, warhawkes, this is assinine and stupid. If this is the basis you wish to build your elven nation on, then your nation will be built on fear, not loyalty.

Now, onto the main point. You tried to execute a pregnant elven woman.

Who was this pregnant elven woman? Dak’irs wife. I suppose that made her deserving of death to you, and her child as well. Yet I will humour this mindset of yours, despicable as it is. Was Dak’irs wife a political powerhouse? Was she of any strategic importance? Was her child? Titles in Ker’nor are not hereditary. Ignoring all that cold justification, you tried to murder an unborn child.

That makes you, Warhawkes, chikr- a slayer of elven children. It is not a word I use lightly. There is no worse brand to be given to an elf than chikr.

Warhawkes, you have lost track of everything you stand for. You either lie, or are delirious in your false belief that the dark elves need “freeing”, when they wish for no such thing, yet try to force it on them through banditry, kidnapping, slaughter and the slaying of their children.

You belittle the Dominion for being under Oren’s thumb and oppression, despite nothing being farther from the truth, yet you yourselves hide behind the coat-tails and linger beneath the shadow of a larger nation yourself, the bandit realm, the Dreadlands. It is on them you depend upon.

I cannot abide by hypocrisy, Warhawkes. I cannot abide by banditry and child-slaying either.

Perhaps you will realize the error of your ways, sadly I expect none else but fiercely defensive, misguided and zealous replies. Perhaps your leadership will prove me wrong.

On a final note, I would ask you no longer attempt to perform banditry or raid upon Dominion lands, as we will be forced to respond as we did tonight, and death of elven souls is wasteful, even if they are- well were, Warhawkes.

With humble regards,

Artimec of Seed Caerme’onn, Prince of Linandria

The Puma Druid grimaces upon hearing the news of the attempted murder of a pregnant 'ker woman. "How far a group can fall in the pursuit of supremacy that they would scorn the life of a babe to get their way," he mutters, adjusting the ever-present bone pipe clamped between his teeth. "A race that bears the burden of infertility should never seek to destroy a blessing from the Springmother herself. May the perpetrator be gored upon the horns of the Huntsman," he grumbles, shaking his head in dismay.

Berr stood strong beside the Orenian, only offering a nod in his response.

"Da." Andrik says to the only Orenian beside himself that was at the raid. "Very easy, cutting them down lasted only five minutes I think."

"Don't you know man? Dreadlanders have a remarkable competency at kidnapping unarmed children, though that skill cannot be applied to keeping said children." says Fiske

Nemir sat alone in her tower, the fire beneath the cauldron near her barely kept her warm from the bitter cold of the north.  She was seated at a table, flipping through a worn journal.  A glass of wine was held in her hand as she paused her readings, a thought coming to her head.  It was of the Warhawkes.

"... So dumb."  The elf shook her head as she brought the glass to her lips, taking a light sip of her wine.

Lindrael would shake his head disapprovingly as he hears of this, before saying in his raspy gruff voice "Wish I was there to stick my sword in these mali'chikr...pregnant woman... unintelligent brigands", before muttering a slew of other elven curses and returning to his writing

((I'm asking politely: Could you try to write RP posts more in tune with the theme? I mean with the phrases ripped from modern day memes and lines like 'part 6 coming out soon' it really comes off like you're just inserting OOC banter into quotation marks, and it kind of puts down anyone who puts an effort in staying in character.))

Willem de Denesle, a kind and deceased Doctor ponders about this letter that his brother had mystically acquired from the seven skies.

"Warhawkes are systematically more uppity than the other elves, got that rebellin' blood in them, brother. A good Elf is a submissive Elf, based off my brain studies. Not one of a nation filled with deviance and blue bellies. Yee doggy."

Nyle Tundrak upon hearing the news would be completely repulsed at such hypocrisy.

"They dare speak about what wrongs have been done against them when they have done tenfold to other Mali, other kin? Do they forget why the Warhawkes roam outside the dominion? Do they forget the thousands of countless mali'fenn whom have fallen to mali'ameian arrows, mali'kerian blades and mali'aheralian magic?"

The snow elf clad in traditional Easterner armor with a snelven twist turns walking outside his tent in a hurry as the small community of his own kin within the Warhawke tribe look his way.

"Prepare my brothers, for our allies have been dishonored and they must be avenged."
