1 1393 Share Posted September 28, 2016 I recall that day where I had made the fatal application. On this old, hand me down, mac I sat there with my mouth agape, staring upon the LOTC website. Given, I was eleven at the time; I did not understand what much, if not anything, was. It took me four attempts, eventually a wide grin creeped upon my face. And that’s when I joined this torturous hell - a place that none of us really remember as to why we stay. Looking back I can tell the reasons I stayed, easy interaction. I’m a rather lazy individual and I was given the opportunity to perform the basic need of socialization from home. Crawling up from that 11 year old edge state. A state in which I played a stereotypical ranger wood elf, to perhaps something worse; a snow elf. If it weren’t for the snow elves I would have likely left this server long ago, and I do not know if that is good or bad. I met many great individuals during this period of time, Ryan, Danny, Hydra, Silent, Drew, and Onm. You’re all people that kept me glued to this server, you all became great friends of mine. I clashed with many of you countless times, but somehow it was always resolved as per children in the end. I stayed doing this for nearly an infinite period of time, two years I believe. During this middle of 4.0 I left the snow elves in a (cringy) attempt to join the undead. This lasted nearly their entire period, myself being one of the cringiest individuals on the server at the time. Bouncing about after this period I had many mis-adventures. Whether it be being blacklisted or sabotaging some group or another I was there, being in the simplest sense a retard. And then there was a swing, I went to join Haelun’or under Ski. I often attempted to do this on my snow elf, but none had worked until the permakill of said character. This is easily a dramatic change, a reduction in my cringyness by far. I aided Haelun’or whilst fighting with Dunamis, causing quite a few conflicts with where I had loyalties for myself. After being banned due to some reasons I still find silly, I left Dunamis as I simply did not wish to put up with the state that I was in. I became fully for Haelun’or, aiding it with pixelated materials quite a bit. I had supplied the group until being placed as effectively the treasurer, a lot of politics post such. A certain individual, Ski, helped me an unbelievable amount during this time period. He allowed my maturity to foster, making a difference upon both in game and real life in some ways. I may not agree with him upon many things, but it is undebatable that he was a mentor to me. This same individual had given me an offer I can’t refuse, an offer to aid in the founding of the infamous Sanctuary. This time had allowed me to join the POWERful ranks of the LOTC staff, starting out as a mere application secretary. And now here I am, fingers pressing rapidly upon a mechanical keyboard as I create this post. I sit currently as MAT lead, LM, and FM, all of which I resign from. That is not all I resign though, I resign my presence upon this server. I have found a lack of freetime recently, the freetime that is needed to perform any moderation. Not only that, but I have lost interest on the server. My time on this server is not something I will be forgetting, although not something that I shall cherish either.
