Oh my, I love starting topics like this... pointing out an image that I like to talk upon and critic. I mean, it's good for immersion, but I mean, look at it.

Look at it again.

Do you know what does it means?

No?

Look at it again.

Look, look until you understand it (unless you are a new player)

Do you know what you've just seen? You've just seen the substructure of a whole roleplay server. All of our decisions, all of our king and queen coronations, all of our moments where we get to do disgusting thing so others may leak (for a laugh), all the land heirloomed from X to Y, 90% of the historic events, roots of our corruption, reason of hate, communication vehicle of hate and circlejerks; holder of meetings and councils, owner of a great wall that stops us.

Do you see my point?

Skype is our absolute monarch.

There's no way we all can come together and change this. No moderator can enforce this fact. It doesn't matters if you scarcely use skype, those around you always will. Your kings and leaders will be decided there, the rejection rate of your future kings will be also made there, and all the sequels will birth from there. To address the elephant in the room: OOC. OOC is killer. It kills roleplay in a plenthora of ways: Walls on roleplaying, personal hate that leads to banditing, character decisions. It affects our roleplay deeply. It becomes monotome and you can expect the obvious result, the obvious turns, the obvious things that will happen, now, here's the question: Would they be obvious if you didn't know of their possibility?

All I have to say is for you to stop and incentivate others. When I try to rebuild the orcs, I'll do it with little ammounts of OOC (such as calls, ban reports and etc, obvious stuff), I'll also try to accept new players and old players, qualms will be taken to RP, want it or not, and I'll run it with ROLEPLAY. I mean, if you want to join me, feel free to. Love y'all.

On another fact, I just got a gold medal on volleyball today at a school championship

Damn, I was hoping for dank memes. Anyhow, I wholeheartedly agree with this! #Sand4Rex

I see Teamspeak/discord used for such more than skype. Since TS/discord is preferred for voice communication, and verbal communication is much harder to leak.

So you are complaining about OOC ruling, while giving a pitch here, completely OOC'ly, to attract people to join your Orc thing? Doesn't that contradict itself?

He was only giving an example of why it is beneficial to exclude OOC in your IC decision making.

Sandk1ng is absolutely correct here, but there isn't much anyone can do about it. The issue is not isolated to Skype, it is pretty cancerous and detrimental to genuine roleplay regardless of what medium you use to coordinate your faction. It's down to nation leaders to promote a more IC focused environment, but the issue lies when it is not consistent—unfortunately most rebellions or uprisings are coordinated via OOC-cliques or such groups, which makes it difficult for leaders to ignore the OOC political field.

It's a battle of selfish versus selfless, if we were all to strongly reduce just how much OOC permeates our decision making—we'd be well off and the quality of roleplay would noticeably improve. But if most drop it, yet some keep using it, those selfish few will have an advantage, which is why this issue never seems to improve.

It might if you don't understand what he's saying. OOC is bad, and the only way we can stop doing it is to literally just stop doing it, and he's saying he's not going to rule a nation through OOC and if you like that then you may enjoy RP there.

Saying "If you like x then you might like this" is different than hopping on skype and be like "Alright noobKiller69, what decision should my character make in regards to our prisoner."
