Lukas would raise his voice then, responding to Tosali's accusations on the debate stage.

"If I recall correctly, Tosali, you had landed on this continent for two months before becoming knighted for accidentally shooting a dragon. That is not experience, my friend, that is luck. You think I was born with all the pleasures I enjoy today? Nie, I was not. I was born in the frozen woods of Salvus, in the far north of the old continent of Vailor. My papej, Britannus, and my mamej, Emilia, had lost everything to the Dukes' War, to betrayal by people we had considered friends. If not by the generosity of some of the Salvian people, I would not be here today. My childhood consisted of constantly searching for firewood, hiding from bears and wolves, accompanying my papej as he went to hunt for food. Then, I finally came of age, and thanks to the good will of one of our greatest kings, King Petyr, my papej and my brother were able to fight and take back what used to be ours. My fellow Haensetians, if this is not a rags to riches story, then I don't know what is. I know what it means to struggle, I know what it means to go without food, without warmth, without shelter. All you've done is walk with your head held high as you plead for other southern lords to ennoble you."

The old man would silence himself then, taking a step back as he waits for a response.

Viktor would applaud Lukas

He'd smile stepping forward to the man but then looking to the crowd

"Ah Lukas Vanir, seems I'd have to address you.People of Haenese, this man claims to know my past while he sips tea in his nice castle, enjoying his luxury while people lesser than him get to suffer. What has this man done to aid the people? He has done exactly nothing to aid the people of Haenese, and I'm afraid it's a common trend that nobles tend to have in these parts, hell even all parts." He'd step in front of the man "You claim it was by luck, that it was merely a fluke that I slayed the beast.See I think there's a little more that thrives that claim, perhaps it's the fact that a noble is scared that commoners like us can achieve ranks that nobles achieve, and that keeps you up at night. Also Lord Vanir, the ennobling statement.Yes I think it's honestly funny that'd I'd seek a noble rank to achieve something that a mere commoner, that makes up our great nation, could do." He'd turn to the crowd  "See the past does not matter for that has happened, but he doesn't know the struggles today, the age we live in now.He is a noble now, we are commoners, lesser to the lords. It does matter from which past events has happened. For WE the people of Haenese, unite under one banner where some noble shouldn't achieve victory in a election because of some blood and a bit of luck.I may be a knight, but let my rank allow others to achieve feats as great as mine!I stand with the people no matter what state in life you are in.One nation, under one banner! We unite together and I stand with you!

He'd raise his fist in the air for a moment, before going back into the crowd.

Daniel Inksmith would watch the debate from the crowd, eyes darting between Lukas and Tosali, his hand quickly writing down notes into a held stack of parchment.

"Please, Ser Tosali, come up on stage and face me as a competitor, not as a heckler in the crowds. You claim I've done nothing to help the people of Haense when that's simply not true. I've employed hundreds of the men and elves of haense into my family's levy force, one of which was you, Ser. I stood beside King Petyr as we marched on Johannesburg for the formation of our Kingdom. During King Andrik's Rebellion, I was a voice of reason, convincing noblemen and commoners alike of the disasters that would come from supporting the rebellion, and ultimately caused King Andrik to abdicate. I have continuously worked to preserve and improve our kingdom. Though of course, I cannot claim full credit for these actions. There were many hard working men and women, nobles and commoners alike, that made haense what it is today. We can learn from all this, my friends. Haense is not strongest when the nobles are superior to the commoners, or vice versa, we are stronger when we come together and unite behind what is right. You accused me of staying up at night scared of commoners doing great things when that is quite simply not the case. Even as we speak, my campaign staff is processing dozens of commoners to see if they are viable for a position in my council."

He'd pause for a moment, seemingly talking to himself for a little bit before returning his gaze to Tosali.

"Ai, I think that's all. Did you have any further accusations to hurl at me or am I free to begin working on my policies for the people of Karlsburg?"

Brynden Vanir shakes his head at the whole thing "As if anyone is more ready for this than my Uncle. Lukas is the best choice. Though keep him away from the kegs."

He'd let a laugh stepping towards him

"Lord Vanir, you claim to have gave me a job, which is false." He'd turn to the crowd  "This man is taking credit for a feat his nephew, Lord Brynden Vanir did.Would you want a man who sits on others achievements leading you?"He'd turn back to him "Yes you have given many jobs, but for what, to add to their deaths because I am one of the sworn-swords, but many of the men barely know how to handle a sword and yet you throw them into the mist of battle. If you are elected Lord Vanir, you will throw us into the mist of chaos, untrained, under equipped, and outmatched. You yet to pay your own men, our reward is to take whatever we find in battle, so instead of calling it jobs, I'd prefer to label it as scavenging." He'd raise a brow at Lukas, letting a smirk come out, soon after he'd turn to the crowd  "Do you want a man who will not pay us for hard work serving you in the council? Will you elect a man whom sits on other's achievements! This town needs men whom would do the feats rather than claim on something that's not his own!" He'd turn to Lukas once more "Lord Vanir, this town needs more of action, rather than stealing other's accomplishments. It's time someone else gets the chance of serving the realm."

An anonymous man in a rather unique helmet would face the crowd.

"This man claims Lukas did nothing, but the truth is he's done much. During the time when the Hamster Aleksander Staunton attempted to usurp the north, Lukas fought on the front lines and slew many of the Courland cravens. Lukas stood beside Petyr Barbanov and Jan Kovachev during the entirety of the war as a true northerner." the man would cough as he caught his breath.

"My ancestors fought beside Lukas during this event and recognised him for his feats. When our great kingdom was first formed, Lukas worked for all of Haense, not just the noble, not just the gentry and not just the common but for all! He kept the north alive on many occasions and never turned his back, even in his old age he's proved to be just as strong as any normal man, fighting the dwarven menace on the front, without an arm might I add! He is exactly what we need, Ave Hanseti-Ruska!" the Worix would shout before walking away from the crowd.

Lukas would scoff, frowning at the man's bold accusations as he prepares to strike back!

"Those men knew exactly what they signed up for, and I fought right beside them. Hell, I've lost an arm fighting with and for these men. As for pay, what we do is follow the customs of Orenian militaries since King Vydra's time. That money has instead been put into infrastructure and craftsmen to make methods of transportation and the wall and the various armaments that you and your brothers in arms use in combat. I've stolen no accomplishments, as you suggest, and as my good Worix friend stated before. My nephew, Marquis Brynden, was one of King Andrik's staunchest supporters in the rebellion, and I was able to convince him to revoke his support for the war, ultimately leading to King Andrik's abdication."

He'd then turn back to the people, "I sure hope for your sake and mine that you vote for someone that is less misinformed than Tosali here."

The unofficially recognized Saint Petyr looks down on the proceedings in the city that was once his. He nods his head in approval at Lord Vanir. "I pray the people see his ability as I once did."

"Fair enough, I suppose we see whom is the victor in this matter, you have my vote Lord Vanir"

He'd give the man a slight smile with a nod, stepping into the crowd with the rest of the people.

Cayleb's expression turns somber and startled, unsure of how to proceed with the difficult debate. A serjeant quickly approaches, patting him on the back and awaking him from his trance. Quickly, he looks up to see Tosali's concession. He grunts, clearing his throat and speaking.

"If you are conceding, Ser Tosali, then I think we have our Maer, as he has rather... unconventionally debated you to defeat. Congratulations, Lukas Vanir!"

As Cayleb announces this, the crowd cheers, though some would note some of the Brigadiers remain silent. Cayleb lets the crowd quiet down, before continuing his announcement.

"Ser Tosali, I would like a word soon. Congratulations once more to Maer Vanir!"
