A thousand voices is ultimately greater than one.

Recommended Posts

Kuntklobbera, clad in stoic suit of black-enamelled blood steel, marched. His destination was the smoke den, for he was to amass a congregation of uruks before himself and the company of the Yazgurtan and Rex akin. The orks wished to be heard, and heard they shall be, for a thousand voices are ultimately greater than one.

The hardy, grizzled Targoth raised a ornately decorated Myrzym tusk turned-warhorn to his deep crimson lips. The sigh of him taking in breath briefly resounded throughout the obsoleteness, but this timid noise was quickly deluged; for he thereafter blew the implement. The clangor of the great, sonorous halloo rung out.

No sooner had the alarum sounded, Orks arrived and gathered themselves before the redskin.

“Come, brothers, share green and grog with your superiors and allow us to hear your qualms.”

OOC:

This shall be a medium for orks to rply push forth ideas for change without the convoluted nature of large congregations, or awkward times and time zone constraints. Orks of any rank may post, but make sure to keep posts in rp. Any stupid or shitty or smart or clever replies will be swiftly removed as they have no place here. Also sorry for  blandness I had to do this on my phone.

"I don't feel represented in Orcish media. I'm oppressed!" Yelled a disgruntled, weak Orc with rainbow skin.

Elder Boneuk of Clan Raguk would be the next to speak up.

"Brothers and Sisters"

He would say addressing the orcs present,

"We need to address the issue of snaga."

He would pause, taking a breath.

"Snaga are a part of our culture, they represent our most primal insticts.  Power and Dominance.

However, owning snaga and snaga hunting seems to have gone out of fashion.

Why?  Simple.  We were weak.

We were weak in numbers.  We were weak in physical strength, compared to those who wished to eradicate us.

Oren."

He pauses once more, drawing breath before continuing on his tangent.

"We were weak, but no longer.

Oren sought to eradicate us, wipe us from existence, even.

We endured.

We rebuilt from the ashes of the old uzg.

We rose up, and we destroyed Oren.

So now I ask all of you here:

Why do we not keep slaves?

We have the power, we have the strength.

However it is clear we are in need of some changes."

He would glance around, looking into the faces of those present

"I propose this:

A new system for snaga.

Instead of individuals owning them, they shall be owned by clans.

Clans may pit their snaga against eachother in klomps.

These klomps can be used as a way to settle disputes, should the Orcs be unable to step into the the klomp pit themselves.

Orcs may also bet on these matches themselves.

However Orcs from one clan may not bet on the opposing clans' snaga.

If match-fixing occurs, all winnings from the guilty clan, and all who were involved, shall go to the opposition, any who lose from match-fixing will be compensated."

Once more, he draws breath.

"Furthermore, clans could buy and sell snaga, or auction them off to the highest bidder.

The new Snagagoth would take care of all business involving auctions, klomps and trading.

Auctions would take place regularly, as long as there are fresh snaga.

The Snagagoth shall also be responsible for keeping a register of all the snaga and their wins and losses in the pit.

A snaga's price will go up if they win a lot, and will go down if they lose.

All snaga most be registered with the Snagagoth.

If a clan captures a snaga, but does not wish to auction or trade it, they may keep it themselves, however it must still be registered.

Lastly, I propose communal housing for snaga.

Perhaps a small village where each clan has a hall and in each hall reside all the snaga of that clan.

The most dominant snaga in the pit in each hall, shall be in charge of all in-house affairs for that specific hall.

Spirit worship should also be a thing in the snaga's life.

Snaga should worship the most popular spirits in their respective clans.

All these snaga will probably wish to be honourarys one day, and introducing them to this hierarchy of power, these klomps and spirit worship should give them a taste of the Orcish lifestyle."

He nods to Kuntklobbera, indicating that he is finished.

There you go, my ideas for slavery in the uzg, feel free to leave any suggestions/ways I could improve upon this formula.

Hu-din nods at the recent comments about slavery and raises his hand to speak.

"Znaggaz are an important part of life in the uruks. Without znaggaz, what are we. I believe we should go back to znagga markets, but znaggaz are owned by clans. I also believe the kha should be able to own znaggaz. We should also have a tax on non-uruks who use our mines, and public access to all uruks who wish to use it. I also believe only urukish green should be allowed in the Uzg. And the uruks should have a znagga market."

Grovmar got up, gazing around at the gathered. The young red skinned orc began to speak, if anyone would listen...

"Shamanism is dying, brothers. Sad to say it, but it is. Shamans have become greedy and selfish, not willing to spread the word of the spirits to their own brothers. Now I'm not saying all shamans are this way, but it is partly why there are so few. Many were only interested in power, and not worship. Now the ones, met with very little power due to their lack of worship, have abandoned ship. This leaves us with very few of them... Shamanism has taken a blow, and something needs to be done about it. I don't know what, but it's getting out of hand. Secondly, Orcs are a strong, dominant people. We have been put into a state of disrepair and chaos, where we cannot dominate. But divide and conquer is quite a good strategy, in my opinion. What if we took on smaller groups and absorbed them, or launch crusades against undead and cults like in the old days? I may be just a cub, but I can see this is worse than the old days... Not to mention! We need displays of power within the Krug-hai to show our strength to other nations. Marches across friendly territory, tribute demands in neutral territory, and raids on enemy territory."

Gholug'Braduk stumbles into the tavern slightly tipsy. Upon realising the congregation had already begun discussing, he briskly comes to a wall and leans on it in an attempt to stay upright. "I heard what you-..." He takes a small pause, thinking to himself where he was going with the sentence. "...-Said there, kub, and that whole... Tribute thing isn't a good idea." He belches. "We need to approach things with- HIC -caution in these times. We have seen empires turn upon us at the slightest provocation, and the last thing we want is another zkahin' war. What we truly need are-" He slips down the wall a few inches, and quickly scrambles back into his previous position. "-Where was I...? Oh, what we need... are big displays of power. We need to make the little guys know we're..." He points around the tavern. "In charge. And here's how we'll do it. We need tournaments - often. The weaklings can watch while I- We show them who's the boss 'round here... AND... We need to show our authority... Slaves are what we need to show the opposition our power! If we can train- HIC -humans and zkah... We can train our own troops better... We need to bring them to warclaims even if they're just- hrmm... Decoration! That's the word... What do you think, brothers?" He opens his arms and looks around the tavern.

"Hate to burst your bubble, Brother, but that's basically what I said..." Coughed Grovmar into his arm.
