A ROYAL DECREE, 1614

Upon the 6th of the First Seed, 1614, His Royal Highness, Oliver, King Regent of Courland has seen it fit to pardon four formally banished citizens of the Realm, after a reassessment of the justification for the banishment had found it both unnecessary and the incorrect way to have gone about each individual situation. On this day, the following individuals will be pardoned from this Kingdom;

  1. Sophia Alexandra

  2. Gonzalo de Castro

  3. Conrad Roswell

The King Regent does solemnly apologise for the actions of the administration that applied such sanctions, and welcomes each individual back into the Royal court with his most sincere sympathies.

The Regent also issues an apology for the issues surrounding the war with the House of Ruthern, and for Courland’s part in the conflict, for such a loss in life in a conflict which could have perhaps been better handled through diplomatic means rather than through military intervention.

The Regent also appoints Ser Elias de Castro as the Grand Knight of the Kingdom once more, and apologises for the actions of the previous administration in removing him from his position.

With Knowledge Comes Power,

Signed,

HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS, Oliver Richard Staunton, King-Regent of Courland

Elin de Castro would be in his small encampment with a group of levymen when the news reached him "mhmm.. Gonzalo was pardoned and Elias is Grand Knight once more? It seems this new King-Regent seeks to keep the kingdom unified..." he'd then turn to one of the levymen "Send word to Elias, we're returning home boys" he'd say with a smirk on his face

Sophia Alexandra Markwardt reads the letter carefully. As she does, her face begins to light up with a smile. Jumping up from the table, she rushes to get paper and ink to send a letter to her dearest brother. As she writes, she speaks to herself with a jovial tone:

"Though I hold cannot hold anymore titles.. I am at least happy a bond has been brought back to my family and I.. Perhaps Oliver will see my way in a different light then the others.. One can only hope."

"So this one guy, a brother or a Lord no doubt, attacks the Arch Chancellor," Rotger begins retelling the story, "and then he gets pardoned for it afterwards!" He bursts out into laughter at the fable, though it dies off quickly as his face turns to a steely serious one. "Lucky I turned up to the fight late. Aaanyway, what-- why'd the princess been banished?"

Renault de Felsen would stand in the alleyways of Aleksandria looking at the new Regent as he crosses the street "Its time for him as a leader to rise, as he is known to be. Its time for Courland to be strong as it used to. But for me, its time I leave until the call of aid is needed from the people." Renault would pull over his hood as he walks out the front gate, without being noticed by the guards on duty, grinning as he thought of the progress that would start to bloom in Courland. He would take one last look at Courland as his crystal blue eyes met with its wall and gate, before looking back forward at the path. Its time for his journey to continue.
