IMPERIAL CENSUS, 1619

Issued and Confirmed by Holy Emperor Peter II Sigismund. Penned by the hand of the High Chamberlain Pepin Ashford de Bar, 8th of the Amber Cold, 1619.

 

In accordance with the wishes of the Closed Council and His Imperial Majesty, the Holy Orenian Emperor Peter II, we do so declare a grand census of the realm.

 

All associated Lords of the Empire are hereby called to the court of the Emperor at the capital of Auguston in Mardon, where they are to provide, in sufficient detail, accounting of their provinces. It is the duty of all Lords to endeavour to meet at the Capital within the coming two years or face the according repossession of any lands they may hold. Should one find himself unable to present themselves at the Imperial Court, they must proclaim such forthwith and send an according representative in their stead, be visited at their own holding, or as a last resort submit a letter with form attached by courier.

 

In order to prepare oneself for the coming census all landed nobility must take note of the following: the titles they hold and the extent of the lands that such spans over, their claim to such land, their noble lineage, the amount of men sworn under their banner, the equipment of their stores, the number of denizens inhabiting any and all fiefdoms, the goods produced within their lands, and, finally the practicable amount of wealth they would be able to raise for purposes of potential taxation.
