As of yet, probably not, though it might influence who gets land on the next map. If this changes, we will warn groups before it happens so they have warning beforehand.

Does this mean the halflings are doomed as a race if they cannot get enough activity to get a plot of land for a village that is the only way to increase their activity?

(Pardon the run-on sentence)

Uncertain, but it certainly would help their chances of getting land at the beginning of next map.

Since I messaged a GM about this issue and (as usual) received no reply or acknowledgement then I'll copy and paste the message I sent to him about the stupidity of punishing players into activity.

The hallfings should not be targeted and banned from having fast travels and soulstones simply because of activity. Yes they're a small, less active race but they are one of the servers core races. They're a little haven for people who want to get away from the politics and the aggression of the server, and that's something I have championed in my 6 years on this server. Humans have 20 empty inactive kingdoms, Halflings just want 1 small village.

I spoke to an admin a few weeks ago and he said Halflings will continue to be punished for inactivity. Which is madness. If a race is inactive, you can't punish them into activity by taking away everything they have. Making their village into a ruin and removing their region while they're all logged off is crazy, I don't know who ever thought this was a good idea.

This seriously needs to be addressed because the Halflings have always given a lot to this server, they need to be encouraged. Give them a small region on the new map and let them have 1 village without threatening to burn it down if they don't log on frequently enough. I don't know if you're the person to message about this but it seriously needs to be addressed. Don't tell me 'it's server policy' - I know it is, but the policy is wrong.

The fact that the GMs first response when a race or group of players is struggling is to destroy everything they own and tell them to start again is worrying for the server.

Here is a thread I posted 2 years ago that is unfortunately still relevant:

Do you want to start these more sensible options or do you want to keep whipping your playerbase so hard with punishment after punishment that they drop dead and stop logging on?

Less active race has a village -> mods decide they don't log on enough -> village gets griefed into ruins -> players log in even less because they lost everything they built or earned -> race now not allowed a fast travel -> impossible to get visitors to a village to increase activity or attract new players -> race not allowed a soulstone -> players now never log in after being ground down constantly.

tbh, I don't think we need over twenty settlements. I think cities should just leave large plots IN the city for guilds to build a proper guild house.

that and drop the protectionism.

Also kinda strange that the two only cities I RP'd in the previous two days are listed as zero activity.

I believe she can vouch for me saying that Haelun'or has been decently active.

Good job explaining the troubles of the halflings! As a halfling, I can confirm that this is rather true, although I haven't quite been playing long enough to see the majority of the troubles the halflings have had with activity and not being given villages to live in.

To be honest, it shouldn't hurt, no one uses a 500x500 faction plot, and it's very unwise to use up all the 500x500 for a capital. I've found out that, the smaller your city and more near one house is near to the other one, the more active your faction will be.
