Game Team

August Update Log

 

Hello everybody, hope you’re all doing well today. This is just a quick little update to show how the Game Team is doing lately, our productivity and what we’re working on right now.

 

Team Roster

 

First things first, here’s a full roster of the current Game Team members.

Esry and Ioannis both passed their trials with all around smiles from the GM management, both putting in lots of work to their respective fields they focussed on. Shannon and MrMineLoveDude have passed their trials in the past couple of days, both proving to be all around good moderators. Currently, LadyRebecca, Pieman, Autocracy and Star Platinum are sitting their trials.


 

Modreq Data

 

We had a lot of modreqs this month, totalling at 5170, and while waiting times are still dragging on a little longer than we’d like, there’s been an improvement in the time at which modreqs are done, and we’re hoping to keep that improvement going and spread it to the timezones that need it most. So, here is the date for August, which had a quota of 200 modreqs.

Sub-Teams

 

As always, the Villain, Region, Economy and War Teams are striving to bring improvements to their respective areas of the server, so below is a brief update from their leaders on how their team is doing.

 

Villain Team (Harrison)

After Wrynn’s promotion to Admin, this Team’s currently being reworked.

 

Economy Team (Hiebe)

Economy team has been reviewing inflation, documenting information on items being bought and sold in the admin shops, and preparing for 6.0. For 6.0 the economy will have massive changes due to how other teams are handling regions, limited creative, and skills. Expect a complete overhaul of admin shops, gold sinks, and items in general.

 

Region Team (Malinor)

My team was recently purged and restaffed. We have been working hard to get a working system for 6.0 and have been doing our daily tasks of activity checks, and land moderation. Our activity has been very well and we are continuing to work hard so that 6.0 can start as smoothly as possible.

 

War Team (Nazdus)

The War Team is currently working alongside Teegah in building a new server dedicated to warclaims, along with a new siege plugin, that they’re hoping to showcase within the coming weeks.



 

Projects

 

Right now, the Team is focused on revising a lot of rules, such as removing barriers against banditry at fast travel, Skype rallying, bird-sending, powergaming, etc. At the moment, we’re looking to fixing up the rules regarding the PvP Cap/Defender Default, and if you haven’t seen it already, here’s the thread where you can join in on that discussion:

After we finish up with the revision of Defender Default, we’ll be bringing you a few more Your View threads about topics mentioned above. In addition to that, there’s also ongoing discussions about feedback threads posted by players over the last few weeks concerning GM issues.

 

Other than that, the Game Team’s invested in a lot of planning and building for 6.0, which we obviously can’t talk about just yet.

First of all, when are you going to find Ioannis' ticket count.

 

And second of all is anyone putting any thought into raising the raiding cap to make raiding less cancerous to both sides, it has been explained several times with evidence on how this will fix many of the issues with raiding, IE: how it will free up raiders to use regular or even sub-par gear to raid instead of forcing 4 of a groups best pvper's to raid utilizing god tier gear.

Can we get a standardized distance-from-FT's allowed so that one can bandit roads? For example, the road from Tahn Docks to Adelburg should be banditable, but due to it's apparent vicinity to FT's it is not allowed.

Raiders have been in the spotlight for a long while now. It's extremely hard to balance out caps and defender default numbers and all. We /will/ be looking at this eventually, but for now we're focusing on some other issues the server is facing. After that, we may bring up raid numbers once more.

This was something we did look at recently (not this specific thing, but the topic itself) and this is a very good idea, actually. I don't think the issue is with fast travels themselves and the rules surrounding it (entirely) but moreso just Adelburg itself. We'll take a look at it.

Yes, please. Villainous roleplay is being hindered due to the cart safezones.

 

Carts shouldn't be basically another cloud temple zone.
