No-Raiding Guideline Extension


Hi again,

This is a small announcement to declare that the hold on raiding will be extended until the 16th of January; exactly one month after the initial map launch. 

 

We have settled on this decision in order to rework the Raiding System while making changes to the other systems previously mentioned here (click hyperlink for more info) and establishing set rules on free-build alongside the World Development and Game Moderation teams. During this period the staff will certainly be putting community feedback into consideration. In addition, please note that raiding is not only restricted to Nation settlements, but to free-build areas as well.

A whole month is an awfully long time to restrict conflict. Rivalry and competition between groups, and the roleplay it creates, is a large part of the server and is what entices many players to log in. To have this completely regulated at the start of the map is simply limiting what roleplay can occur on the server. What's the explanation for groups and nations that were previously at odds being now unable to have any confrontation on a large scale for over four ingame years? Also, is there no possibility of reusing the old raid/warclaim rules until a decision is made?

This is stupid. Give it another week at most. If you can't pump out a raid rules document in a week then I've a few other questions.

 

Also make sure freebuild towns are NOT protected.

What good comes from freebuild settlements getting griefed and raided into oblivion?

The lack of freebuild settlements. If you cannot protect yourself, don't make one.

And why is a lack of freebuild settlements a good thing? People seem to be enjoying the dynamic roleplay places like these offer

And like with all things, if not brought under control somehow it will go too far. They will be everywhere. Lack of raiding protection destroys any possibility of this freebuild overindulgence.

And why is a lack of raising protection the best way to do this? Do we want 30 man gank squads going into freebuild and destroying every single settlement?
