And so, the line ends.

Barradin hangs limply by his restraints as he slowly, but surely, opens his eyes.

How had he gotten to this point, after everything he had been through in his life, was beyond him. He simply couldn't believe it.

Fighting against a collapsing Oren with the world at his back, not once, but twice. And fighting most of his life against his own kin, in too many failed rebellions until at last striking out under the banners of Kaz'Ulrah, had made him strong.

But overconfident.

Nothing could kill Barradin Stormbreaker, the Butcherer of the Senate.

The grizzled war-veteran, the father and lover. And at the end, a reformed dwarf, giving his life for Kaz'Ulrah and his many friends no matter what.
This can't be the end, he figured. Dying in a damp cellar as a drained husk is not how he was supposed to go down.

Right?

Barradin forces his gaze upwards, slowly trailing the form of a broad-shouldered knight until finally he rests his eyes on where the face of the being should have been.

He fell into deep thoughts yet again as the last ounces of life slowly left him. Friend? He hated the Undead with all his might, and had burnt several at the stake yet this one called him friend?

Barradin waved the thought away, or atleast attempted to but with the restraints in place he ended up expending energy he didnt have.
Was this his punishment for straying from the Brathmordakin? For embracing the Aspects as his true gods before this.. his death?

Did he really regret anything, now that his chapter had come to a close? When it came to it, no, not at all.

He couldn't feel anything anymore, not see anything and all the now-slumped dwarf could think about was to go to sleep.

Barradin closed his eyes and started to pray before realizing something. "This changes nothing, indeed."

The Undead General, Jacques de Felsen, through it's visor, a visor which behind was nothing but an endless darkness, stared at Barradin's corpse that slumped down lifelessly from his restraints.

'I remember you in life dwarf, and now you shall join me in death.'

Somewhere resided an apostate. He looked up from a mound of corpses, grinning madly as the shadows danced to and fro, as if the very light shunned his pallid form, decrepit and feeble fingers dancing against the surface of his throne.

"As the dead rise they will know true fear, and at last one by one the gods will die."

Verthaik would slam his fist against his table as Hamnil stumbles into the room, giving him the dreadful news and then hurrying out quickly to evade his King's rage. Pacing back and forth, not even his wifes words could calm him as his rage continued building, unable to believe that Barradin was gone.

"How cruel this world be, that Barradin himself be the first to fall in this new world. A warrior and intellectual from day one, the type that yeh don't find anymore! How braveleh he stood by me and Gorum when weh left Urguan for Jornheim, how proudleh he defended the ideals for which our ancestors shed much blood. And when the time he came, he was the first alongside me to strike against the lethargic Senators in their chairs of gold, crafted by the common Dwarf of Urguan who would never have a chance in their system. When the horns of Kaz'Ulrah called us all to the Fields of Jornheim, Barradin charged alongside the others, and when the fortress of Southern Haense fell, it was Barradin I encountered smoking pipeweed as I rammed through the front gate, his hand upon a pack full of Urguanite and Orenian gear. May the halls of Khaz'A'Dentrumm receive you with full honor my friend, and may you forever feast with our ancestors."

"A lad tooken too feckin' earleh. I hope he feasts well in Khaz'a'Dentrumm. Narvak oz Barradin.." he would state slowly.

Ogdan slowly bringing his glass to his lips as he chugs the remaining contents and slams the mug on the table in the very corner of the tavern. Giving a blank stare about the room before standing up slowly and walking out seemingly disoriented.
