The Sea Speaks in Roaring

21st of Malin's Welcome, 1644.

Far beyond the scope of the mainlands of Atlas, unearthly things stir beneath the surface of the ocean. Upon a lone island bearing the earthen-rooved structure of a bunker that expanse far below treads two shockingly massive beasts-- scaled, Draconian, yet wingless, with one far larger than the other, the Droquar come and occupy the island with the intention to gain repose from the black expanse of the sea.

Tokovolos the Greater; a 'Droquar' of Atlasaen Legend

Destruction is set upon the bunker as soon as the inhabitants, members of an unknown organization, reveal themselves. After the strength of one of the Sea-Dragons, Tokovolos the Greater, proved grand enough to have punched a hole through the ceiling of the bunker, the chamber within was bathed with a breathe of lightning that bore a booming bellow able to be harkened to across the land. Not one man had died throughout the entire incursion; yet, the greatest thing that the defenders were able to cast upon Tokovolos was a stormlike surge of the very same element his kind was attuned to; lightning.

Soon, as the the survivors dispersed to lower levels, the two Droquar returned to the sea; either disinterested with the lack of proper retaliation, or merely driven be aggravation and a desire to settle upon an island to rest undisturbed.

[I hope the attendants of what Ebonsquire and I have concocted up enjoyed themselves, despite the wanton destruction of their base. Credit is also due to TitanOfTheDepths for having made the Droquar builds himself. Much more is to come!]

"Beautiful Creatures, yet too dangerous to admire close up." Elrith remarks.

A Highlander woman scans the northern horizon. The cleric's sabatons tread through the sand where the Droquar departed. Her ears would hold a soft ringing for the next eve, following the lightning cast down the bunker. The woman's steps would shake for another hour as a result of the deafening strike. Once she was certain she could risk travel, Eris Sylvaeri would depart for the Dominion of Malin with a warning.

Upon hearing the news of the devastation, Azoth sighs heavily. He takes up a quill, lifting it over to the parchment beside his desk. He pauses then, the tip inches above the worn paper. He stares at it a hard moment before slowly retracting the quill to his side. He waits for a long moment before filling the silent room with an exhausted sigh. He then straightens his shoulders and begins to write.

-----------------------------------------

"To those harmed in this attack,

I send my deepest regrets and condolences. I pray to my patron deity Aeriel, the Caretaker of Souls, to shine her Light upon you all and grant you the power and wisdom to carry on. She works in mysterious ways, but I believe such matters are not for the mind of an ex-Sage of her now fallen Guardians. I will personally offer my services to those seeking aid after these attacks, as I believe it is in every good spirited mortal to help where we are needed, regardless of creed or despicable occurrences.

Mercy and a drive to do what is right by my own vision has lead me down many broken paths in this life. I've watched loved ones perish and entire nations fall due to the inaction of my blade centuries before; never directly connected, but enough that it hurt me dearly. This is not one of those times. I will not regret my words nor will I regret offering aid to those who seek to destroy me. This is a lesson I urge all to undertake and understand.

It is at this time that I declare myself, the newfound follower of the Society of Light, as an ally to those attacked and hurting from this chaos. Take my words and actions as one, Brothers and Sisters, or leave me to succeed with both of them.

A. Hawksong"

Azoth sets the quill down, smiling at the fine response he has written. He then hums softly to himself before drawing something for himself as multiple copies begin to be made and sent out across the land.

Thomas Woodlaw found such a statement to be quite offensive, mainly due to the fact that Azoths statement was not of genuine sympathy and that it was merely a tool to passively gloat about his own little makeshift organization. "How unfortunate should these fine people suffer such a misfortune. I hope they recover from such an incident, and that we are able to come together to help one another in tragedies such as these."

Upon hearing of the misconception among the general populace, Azoth makes a change to the missives being sent out. He also includes a small amendment to the passages for further clarification:

-----------------------------------------------

"Upon reviewing my phrasing in the last portion of the missive, I feel it my duty to amend this and clarify my intent. When I say 'Society of Light', I mean the entire culture and populace of the Holy Orders. Be that the Ascended, Clerics, or Paladins. I mistook myself when I wrote 'leader' in lieu of 'follower'. That was an error of writing the wrong word on my part and I apologize for placing it there unknowingly. I blame the tired mind of a mali deprived of sleep. There is no organization refereed to as the 'Society of Light' under my dominion. It is simply meant to simplify and categorize the Holy men and women who follow the teachings of the Aenguls.

Pardon my mistake and I hope none believe me to be allying any more than myself to any humanitarian efforts for those affected.

A. Hawksong"
