Xarkly 17299 Share Posted April 3, 2018 XARKLY Hi everybody, and welcome to the Event Team Update for March. For my first month as Director, March has been a pretty good one that included the addition of some solid new members to the ET roster, both as Actors and Builders, and we managed to recover from our dry patch in February, which was our main goal for the month. I'll touch on a couple of our ongoing projects below, and then Skylez and Seventh will chip in with their reports of Actors and Builders and how they're getting on. TEAM ROSTER As of the time of posting, here's a full roster of current Event Team members. NEW APPLICANTS We've got a solid roster as it stands, though if you think you've got what it takes to be a lEaN mEaN GReEN EvENt MaCHinE, then please throw in an application, you've got nothing to lose. We're always looking for new Builders too, so if you can build then please definitely consider applying down at the link below; https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/forum/180-event-team/ SEASONS OF ATLAS CONTEST Gotta be honest and say I'm pretty blown away by the entries to the Seasons of Altas contest so far both in the drawing and art categories. There's been some absolutely incredible entries that have genuinely really impressed me and I'm hoping to see a few more before the contest closes. For those of you who don't know, the Seasons of Atlas is an ongoing Art & Writing Contest being hosted by the ET with themes based on the months of LOTC. The contest closes on the 14th, so you've got just over ten days to participate. You can get all the details and view the current submissions here on the main thread; WORLD EVENTS Sooooo right now there's three prominent large-scale eventlines that are well in-progress on the server that you can get yourself involved in. The Far GladeThe first of these is the Far Glade events, though this is on a little hiatus due to Final being on vacation until mid-April. However, you can still get involved by finding events that are hidden throughout the map. Find them, PM Final, and he'll get you sorted once he's back in his usual schedule. The Vaeyl OrderThe second of our large-scale eventlines is my own, based around the ice wall and the Yatl Wastes at the southern end of the map. This eventline focuses on Atlas' history and the Vaeyl Order -- a militant group of sentient specters who were native to Atlas. If you want to get involved, feel free to message me to set up an expedition into the blizzards of the Wastelands to join dozens of other players and groups in unravelling the mysteries of Atlas' enigmatic past. The PalebeastLastly, we've got Murdercharl's Palebeast eventline. This is a player-originated eventline that focuses around a plague that turns men into half-beast abominations. Be wary that these events are high-stakes, and include a disease system where players risk contracting symptoms that they experience up to an IRL week, with effects that vary as your participation in the storyline progresses. You can get yourself involved in this gritty plot by visiting certain locations you can learn about in roleplay, which are spread across Atlas. A good starting point is around the Haense/Markev region. The Markev Eventsite Spoiler xd That's everything on my end. As always if you've got any questions, concerns or ideas please just comment down below, pop me a forum message or add me on Discord (Conor#8203) and I'll be happy to chat to you. Read on if you want to check out the statistics and productivity for Actors and Builders for the month of March. Other Projects For the month of April, our focus is probably going to be largely inward, such as reforming system, guides, applications, and so on and so forth, so you guys probably won't see a whole lot of change from a community point of view. However once summer rolls around and we all wrap up our exams, we'll be turning our attention to more in-game projects. SKYLEZ Skylez checking in for the March Update! My job as the actor manager comprises of interviewing applicants, reviewing submitted logs, evaluating actors, and just generally aiding Xarkly in running the Event Team. ACTOR ROSTER We brought on a host of new Actors to the Event Team in March -- totalling at eight, giving our roster a much needed boost. We're pleased to say that a lot of them are veteran ET returning to exercise their creative talents, while we also brought on some new, fresh and enthusiastic players. The current Event Team Actor roster is as follows: Aesopian (Veteran) Papa_Liam (Veteran) Murdercharls (Veteran) AwakenMyLove (Veteran) ScreamingDingo (Veteran) Zarsies (New) (Veteran) TreatyCole (New) Niv_Mizzet (New) (Veteran) ZachsSlayer (New) HurferDurfer (New) Keefy (New) Nolan_ (New) (Veteran) BlauSchlumpf (New) (Veteran) This brings us to a total of thirteen Event Team Actors, four of which are brand new, four of which are returning veterans and the rest being our core team who've been around for the past couple of months. We'd also like to say goodbye to @MrBamPow, @Publius and @Cave_Creaturewho decided to step back as Actors this month, and thank them for their work in helping us create a richer, more livelier Atlas for everyone to enjoy. It was a pleasure to work with you, guys. MARCH EVENTS February had been one of our worst months in a long time, and this can be attributed to hiccups like our old Director leaving abruptly mid-month, a low roster of Event Team Actors and a general lack of motivation and direction. However, we're pleased to announce that we've successfully recovered from that drought, and in March we logged a total of 83 events, compared to just 56 back in February. It's been a solid month, and we're confident we'll replicate this statistic going into April, if not better it. MOST PRODUCTIVE ACTOR Spoiler Someone stop this madman. Coming in as much productive Actor for the THIRD month in a row is Xarkly with a total of 19 logged events for the month of March, accounting for 23% of Event Team activity in March. SeventhCircle Alright Folks, The month of March was a pretty solid month. The build team has gotten more in sync and we’ve even picked up a few more members. Overall the team completed 19 builds which is a bit above average from past months. With an average number per member at 3.8 Builds. Which is so far the peak average during Xarkly’s Tenure (Go boss man). BUILDER ROSTER We've started getting some more Builder applications, which is great since we're always short-staffed when it comes to Builders, and we're glad to see that more applications keep coming. Again, if you're a confident builder, please consider throwing us an application, you'd be doing the server a big service. Other than that, the current Builder roster is as follows: DrFate786 (Veteran) DrunkenMutt (Veteran) Elrith/Mordu (Veteran) ImCookiie (Veteran) HortonHeardAWho (Veteran) Wrynn (New) (Veteran) Zarsies (New) We're delighted to welcome the Admin/Build veteran Wrynn back to the Team, alongside Zarsies, who is now an u l t i m a t e ET with both the Actor and Builder tag, bringing us to a total of seven Event Team Builders. Normally I'd have a list of departures here but no one left in March which is awesome! MOST PRODUCTIVE BUILDER Spoiler Shoutout to Cookie and DrFate for tying for most productive Builder for March!
