Howdy, I've been working on this for awhile. I want feedback, that's about it. What can be changed for the better. What can be changed for the worse ?.  Leave your feedback below. Have fun. Feed me rep as well.

What is a heist?

A heist is a roleplay ‘raid’ where the attackers are allowed to lockpick various chests and/or armour stands to steal from their targets This is purely roleplay and any Out of Character usage is frowned upon, including during the planning.

 

How to start a heist?

To start a heist, you can fill out the application below and send it to any Game Moderator. If the Heist is approved, a single payment of 5000 Minas must be paid to the Game Moderator for roleplay costs before the heist may occur. You may purchase lockpicks and bolt cutters from the various thief shops placed around the map.

Committing a Heist:

On the day of the Heist, at the approved time agreed upon by the Leader of the Heist and the Game Moderator handling it, a member of the heist must make a modreq. Either the Game Moderator who handled the discussions with the Leader of the Heist or another Game Moderator who is informed on the situation will take the modreq and stay with the group in vanish as the heist occurs.

 

Heist Rules:

  • 3 players are needed for a heist, a maximum of 6 players may participate.

  • Each player is given 5 rolls (/lockpick is not allowed at this time).

  • Regular roll rules are applied except chests and iron bars are now added:

    • Wood door — roll 17+ (10+ with a lockpick)

    • Iron door — roll 19+(15+ with a lockpick)

    • Locked sign — roll 17+ (10+ with a lockpick)

    • Glass / Window —roll 12+

    • Chest — 16+ (LOCKPICK REQUIRED)

    • Iron bars — roll 15+ (BOLT CUTTERS REQUIRED)

    • Fences — roll 15+ (BOLT CUTTERS REQUIRED)

 

  • If the heisting group is caught and attacked by anyone from the city, the member of the city will be given Defender Default. Only those around at the time will be allowed to initiate in combat.

  • /trash will not be allowed. Anyone caught trashing extra items from chests will receive a 2 week ban and a Heist blacklist.

  • Heist members are permitted to bring any amount of items or armour (leather or chain only) with them on the heist. Heist members may only take up to 6 slots of loot from the heist. Anyone caught taking more than 6 slots will be punished.

  • You have 1 hour starting when the Game Moderator overseeing states the Heist is a go. Once that time limit is up, no items may be stolen and you must leave the area.

 

Heist Cooldowns:

 

  1. If Heist is successful for attackers, 1 month cooldown on area.
  2. If Heist is successful for defenders, 2 week cooldown.

 

  • Success for the defenders is recognized only if the Defenders of the region repel the Heist group. Anything else will be recognized as a victory for the attackers.

Effects: A roll of 15+ allows a hole, large enough for a person to walk through, to be clipped into gates or barred windows. A roll of 5- will cause the Bolt Cutters to break instantly. Anywhere between 6 and 14 will have no effect.

Edit: 

 

Make sure that bolt cutters can only be used in heists and that heists cannot be done at the same time as raids/must occur while the area is under a raid cooldown. Otherwise people will spend 10k minas just to break through gates during raids.

I fell this needs changed to reflect the material much like how wooden doors and iron doors work. But all and all it looks fine.

Mostly decent - Either way, good work on actually writing something instead of just saying you might. The system doesn't have any exploitable faults from what I can see, so there couldn't be harm in actually adding something instead of leaving a blank spot in the server.

Heists are supposed to offer a huge reward for a cost. There are no free minas with this system, it takes work, takes practice, and takes a little bit of a cost on your end. But I do understand your concerns and it will be noted.

They do match the rolls for doors. Iron doors with a lockpick is a roll of 15+, having wooden gates match wooden doors really doesn't work in my opinion and makes people use iron gates instead of wooden gates which match many build styles. I rather let people have their choice of build material instead of forcing them to pick Iron bars to cause something to be a higher roll. I hope that all makes sense.

/lockpick is a system that doesn't work as planned yet in my opinion and having the old system being used for this is a better option at the moment. If /lockpick becomes a more solid method and includes Bolt Cutters in it, that'd be something I'd get behind. I hope that all makes sense.

Many thanks. If there are any faults in this, let me know so it can be looked at and patched. If this does go through the system will be looked at closely and updated as needed.

Originally, I wanted to make Bolt Cutters 20,000 minas but after some discussion and negotiating, it was lowered to 10,000 minas for this proposal. If they were to be added it is my goal to see them in Heists only at first and if it becomes a working system, to add them into raids. This is all just my vision right now, but thanks for the feedback, it has been noted homie. The cooldowns will be looked at as well.

Why do you need to pay a gm to heist after you buy all the random rolling modifiers (bolt cutters / lockpicks etc). Why only five rolls each? Also Heists as they are are literally just 'give me pixels' simulator. They'll only be done when a city is empty and someone has metad where the factions loot vault is. Heists should at minimum have to occur during a cities peak times so there is at least some chance of interesting content / conflict being generated. Otherwise the robbed group just feels well.. robbed and the robbing goons get to make off with pixels after not roleplaying, grinding or clicking. Just a system that exacerbates existing server issues and ensures that all parties involved will leave the encounter in a negative way. Either by not roleplaying or generating content or by being salty at the server and robbers because they were given no opportunity to stop the robbers.
