The Kingsmoot of 1677

“ ah Heial'Malin”

With somber hearts weighed heavy against their chests, the Dominion Chieftains met within the chamber of the King. They were met on all sides by the sea breeze and the sound of salt waves crashing against the cliff-face. The air was cool and dry, and cut into the gathered like a sharp knife with each breath stolen. The citizenry crowded the open pavilion, held tightly together as their leaders bickered over their poor prospects.

The fight against the September Prince had gone poorly, and so this topic dominated the debates. Splayed behind each speaker held aloft were banners, the Clan colours of each faction. Attendance was high with all in attendance, Ithelanen, Carme’onn, Silma, and all the rest. Behind each Chieftain stood their most prominent Elder Clansmen.

Before the Eternal Throne, held high above his fellows stood Kairn the Conqueror. He listened carefully to their grievances and allowed debate to flow before exterting his authority. With a wave of his hand the ancient Clans were silenced and the Moot begun.

“This gathering has been long overdue” he starts, clearing his throat. “By my abdication, and following this blow dealt to us by the September Prince it is time to accept the ascent of our new King. By ancient rite it is according to our forefathers that each of you is heard. Abelas Caerme’onn stands as my chosen successor, confirm his rise, or submit before us a challenger to oppose him.”

With this Kairn returned to the throne as mediator and speaker, and Caerme’onn rose in his place to stand as contender for the Crown.

Miklaeil Silma stepped forward from the other seed chieftains gathered for the Kingsmoot, glancing about with a soft grin on his face. The Silmaen Druid remained silent for a few moments for dramatic effect, then spoke, "Silma casts their vote for Abelas Caerme'onn to remain as King." He then returned to his space among the others quietly.

Damai Torena stood with little to nothing showing on his face. He knew his answer already. "Abelas, ay we vote for him" He'd simply nod after speaking, eyes lightly drifting around gaze finding itself upon each chieftain

"The scarlet banners of Sylvaeri will march behind the King of Elvenesse, as they have since the dawn of the nation." the Prince says, inclining his crowned head before Abelas. "On behalf of the line of fabled Almenor, and the sons of Sylvaen, I recognize Abelas Sa'roir Caerme'onn as Elvenking- may he reign long beneath elder boughs, and bear the crown with honour." With this the elf resumes his seat, awaiting the judgements of the other lordly Elves.

"I shall take the stead of my malari'onn Awaiti in light of her recent condition. Those of the Aureon seed do cast their vote for Abelas Caerme'onn, as do we wish him a grand and prosperous reign. Whether the mourning dove sings at dawn or the raven cries at dusk, long shall you have our support." Exclaims Guyden Aureon, drawing his left hand over his heart as he granted a steady bow of the head. His placid demeanor revealing little emotion even as an invasive woodpecker seemed insistent to assault his rightmost appendage.

"I, Kairn of the Seed Ithelanen, pledge my vote for Abelas Caerme'onn. Long may he reign, long may the Dominion prosper." The former king abdicated the seat with the grinding of his metal limbs, going to allow the newly anointed king to take his place.
