You’ve been lying to us. He's the enemy, we have to kill him Edyth I'm proud of you, private Marlow How could you abandon us? Baerin spoke of you when he died. Baerin died because you failed him. How could a family do that to one of their own We'll get revenge dont worry Marlow You have to stop getting hurt When will you have babies? I can’t wait to be a godmother! You're a dear friend You've betrayed everyone Dying is the coward’s way out Choosing life is cowardly Face your fate Live a slave or die a soldier Live as an Ash or die a Ruric Live. I wanted to live. But why? Cold sweat on her brow, Edyth awoke from her sleep, a violent shiver controlled her. Hands pressed to her face, fingertips pressing dangerously at her eyes, she sat up in bed. A small whimper escaped her throat, eyes glistened from tears she had fought many times before. With a trace of lingering hesitation, she rose from the bed, the sky outside dark, the room cold. Wordlessly, Edyth descended the stairs. Quietly, she opened the front door, stepped out into the night, and shut it gently behind herself. Goodbye, my love. The thought lingered in her mind, brought hesitation to her footsteps. For a moment she imagined that she could feel his embrace, hear his laugh, see his figure behind her. Yet he was no longer enough to beat back the grief that clouded her mind, it seemed no one was. Sick of heart and body, she was no longer half living, or quarter living. She was simply a bag of bones held together by accursed flesh and a mind which hounded her with all she had done wrong. The sight of Qaz’s execution burned in her mind. His voice trailed after her, his words a poison afflicting her soul, spurred further guilt. Hope had once led her to life, as guilt now guided her to death. Father, please. Life scares me. A fever ailed Edyth and she briefly considered the river as she walked along its shore. The thought was quickly dismissed, her journey was not to end at this river. Vaguely, at a distance, the sound of her footfalls breached her mind. Thorns and brush from a long unused path cut at her feet. Yet she was numb, and it all felt so very far away. Without moonlight, dull eyes locked upon the familiar glow of fire. The Ash Tree’s fire was slowly fading away for the season. The place of her birth, Pinemarch, surrounded her, the memories it held eased her mind, if only briefly. A length of rope, scavenged from one of the long abandoned buildings, found its way to her hands. I’m so tired. I think I’ll rest a while. MissToni 3565 Share Posted January 28, 2020 "You will be dearly missed, Edyth..." Were the words that were uttered by a woman known as Frida Emelie. Her face filled with tears as she mourned the loss of her beloved friend.
Crevel 7561 Share Posted January 28, 2020 Markus Arden sat still, a bottle in his hand as he digs his feet into the sand. He brings the bottle closer to his lips then puts it up towards the sky, “Lucky bastard, got out while you still could..” He swills the rest of the bottle and tosses it into the water. His legs shake, troubling to bring himself up as he pushes his weight towards the ocean. “Perhaps one more game of hide and seek like old times.“
Askuzai 505 Share Posted January 28, 2020 Chadmyr had been doing his daily rounds of keeping life to the fires around Morsgrad. Upon stepping into the temple garden he felt a cold at his back, no, a warmth? He could not tell, but when he turned around there was nothing there. Naught but the silent crackles of his Firestaff and the feeling that something, or someone, had been lost to him were in the air. A swirling cloud of of smoke and spark drifted towards the direction of Pinemarch and towards the sky – The Sun. He could almost swear he saw a figure, A family, rising up with it. If he ever found out about the death of Edyth, All he couldve wished for was the chance to have said Goodbye to his dear cousin.

Draiden 326 Share Posted January 28, 2020 Jager sat at the edge of the icy waters surrounding Morsgrad, with his father’s flamebrand planted into the rocky shores at his side and fishing rod in hand. A chilled breeze would make the flamebrand wither and falter for just a moment, and Jager would look up to it for a moment to see the winds die and the fire replenish. “If only people could persist so easily in a world that stops at nothing to snuff it out.” He sighed to himself, turning his focus back onto the waters. He thought briefly of Edyth, who had survived much harsh treatment at the hands of her kinsfolk and still managed to smile. He hoped she was happy, wherever she was. She deserved to be happy. He would never know of her ultimate fate, an Ash amongst the pines.
SaltAlt 606 Share Posted January 29, 2020 Alaric would pull his boat further up the shore after finally reaching land on his journey west. Resting at the makeshift camp he had made he would turn to collect the bird in its cage that accompanied him. Reaching a finger to stroke the white feathered head of the bird as he wrote his second letter to his sister, soon removing the bird from its confine and sending it east towards the lands Arcas with the letter in tow. He’d watch as the small black dot of the bird slowly faded from sight, only then turning to walk into the thick brush for a source of food and water to keep him alive whilst waiting for the bird to return with a response from Edyth. As the sun slowly set behind him he’d sit around his fire digging through his pack pulling out a fox pelt and a small music box. Winding the music box he’d slowly lay to rest for the night listening to the song that calmed him since he was a young boy, a deep sadness running through him as another note seemed to be missing from its old song. Venomous_Pup 2978 Share Posted February 12, 2020 Mia would have be informed by her young sister Anya remembering the young child she once took short care of. She made her way into a private area into her home as she’d then proceed to let out a pained cry due to the various events that happened and from this news. She could do nothing but blame this on herself as she did everything currently happening in her life. She admit in a loud scream “Averir ito nae’leh!” then merely collapsing onto the cold floor as she’d begin to have a coughing fit then her exhausted form begins to wildly twitch. She’d reawaken shortly after, bringing herself to her knees, clasping her hands on her legs as she’d decided to herself she knew what she must do, and make everything right. She’d begin to silently weep as she’d plead to those who would not hear her words ”Tillun kae, for I am weak and fate forces me down this path.” She got up, her heart torn asunder even more. Mia made her way to leave home to go on a trip, as she was just leaving the doors she thought of the two other loved ones she lost and commented ”I really fucked it up, didn’t I?”
lemonke 6014 Share Posted June 1, 2020 A taller, long-hooded figure stood adorned in a common plate armor, the news recently came in her ear. Her hands clenched into fists as she held her gaze in front of Gehenna's manor, her breathing was heavy and her arms trembling. "My sister ... even you ... I couldn't do anything." She murmured weakly, clearly troubled by her stammering voice. "You and I walked a dark pact. Yet we got out of it, even if not together ... I had to be next to you, I failed, i failed you. And I failed our father." She had a hatred for this considered father, even if there was a minimum of respect. "How many more will have to leave. How much you will still take from me?" She continued to comment in that grim fashion and after a few seconds she turned in a jerk of her legs, to forget about such forgotten life. Leaving the mannor behind and whom was within it.
