grnappa 1230 Share Posted March 20, 2021 Battle of Robert’s Folly ~Rebel soldiers fleeing Providence after failing to rescue Robert Foltest, circa 1812~ Last Saint’s Day on the 17th of Godfrey’s Triumph, 1812, our Imperial capital came under attack by a band of rebels, seeking to obtain their first victory of the war. Upon coming through the gate at the ready, using devilish tricks to have it opened, they began harassing the innocent citizens of Providence and demanding that the Imperial State Army release the Lord Helvets, soon to be put on trial for treason. Not a moment later, the Imperial State Army sprang into action and sallied out from the Bastion to face the invading force. After a few moments of taunting by the traitorous rabble, the Imperial State Army charged forward, catching the rebels off-guard and causing them to rout in all directions as they fled in terror.Ensign Caspian d’Arkent saw a prime opportunity and ordered a withdrawal to the Bastion. The retreating rebels halted in their tracks, being lured by the feigned retreat. In a moment of desperation, hoping to save face from their earlier embarrassment, the traitors charged headlong towards the Imperial soldiers. The trap was sprung. At the booming orders of the officers, the regulars quickly wheeled about and reformed ranks, causing the disorderly rebels to crash into the well-prepared Imperial soldiers, many of whom were slain on the spot. With that, the remnants completely lost coordination and broke ranks, running from their pursuers. Many more of the insurrectionists were cut down as they fled from the city in terror, the laughs and jeers of the citizenry filling their ears. Not a single Imperial Soldier was killed in this fight. The Emperor congratulates his triumphant soldiers, reservists, and auxiliaries who met this threat and turned them back in a terrified flight. As Orenians, we are strong as many. But together, we are stronger as one.Volens et Potens! Da_Emperors 1987 Share Posted March 20, 2021 Sir Ledicort d’Azor would grind his teeth at the report that was placed to him from the Major. “How is it that they could stand with Sedan, for what purpose to support these traitorous scum when treaties are in place.” He would arise and head off towards his office within Selm Palace. valecu 2128 Share Posted March 20, 2021 Valent would quickly go down the lines of the missive, recalling the memories from one saint's day ago... "Oren is force to fear, once united by common enemy!"
Mescaffier 6197 Share Posted March 20, 2021 Captain Viktoriya Tseczar briefly scanned the flier she'd caught in the wind, snickering beneath her breath as she faced off against the dozen druids before her. The figure of the woman shrugged, slinking off behind the pillar she guarded to read it fully. "More pitiful than these elves, for sure . . . What was it that man said? 'Come face us on the field like men, we're waiting'. Ai, we're waiting, now, you lilly-livered cowards."

ARCHITECUS 4788 Share Posted March 20, 2021 At the commotion of the fight, J. Fitzpeter peeked his head out a window of Café Milano. He was greatly surprised by the nearby face of a fleeing enemy, prompting him to spit a torrent of hot coffee from his mouth! The accidental attack slowed the raider enough for Joe ( @EddyTheBrave ) to slice his hamstring with a bloodstained saber, felling the foe for good. Caranthir_ 2533 Share Posted March 20, 2021 Henry, a blind old fool with not a penny left to his name, was struck down that fateful day in Providence. He had thought to stand by his dear friend Robert in the face of otherwise certain death. He had been a judgeless wit in his final act, but he thought it right to fight for something he believed in: someone he believed in. In the last moments of his life he whacked a wooden cane into the face of a redshirt ensign and was met with a blade in the stomach forthwith. As he died, he thought of those final words to his fellow conspirators: "Godspeed, goodmen, I must see to my duty and my destiny." Thus ended the long tale of Henry Stephen, a man who was the future once.

bugbytes21 790 Share Posted March 20, 2021 Garret Darkwood looks at the missive stating, "To think that was called a fight, it was merely warm up for the Imperial Soldiers, a good mornings worth of physical training. If this is truly the best that these rebels have to offer, then this war will be swiftly won."
