Night stretched across the Almarisian horizon, the moon slowly setting in the far to the east, yet still reflecting its pale light across the dark heavens. Amidst the chirp of the birds and the buzz of crickets in the waning night, what seemed as a great and magnificent beam of pale, ivory light jetted upwards from darkness. Such a spectacle was so bright that even the stars were made pale in comparison, their diamond gleam relinquishing in awe of this great sign. Then, the pillar of light vanished, and the realm was silent for but another brief moment, granted only a fleeting respite from the greatness that was to occur.

And then it happened: a great quake which shook across the realm; and those of Almaris felt the earth cry out. Stone was torn from stone, and the split of the earth rang out across the heavens, disrupting the chorus of the early morn whilst the moon overlooked this curious sight. Then, another crack was heard, like that of a whip, yet more thunderous and bold than any charioteer of man could possibly muster. Those attuned to nature heard her weep, and men who dabbled in the arcane suddenly felt the Veil grow thin once more.

The rumble stopped, and all was still and silent. Suddenly, from the East, the night was banished; dawn breaking across the shattered stone. For now, high, high above the earth, rose a splendid and great city, gleaming in the morning light brightly as the sun and moon themselves as it rose to the heavens above, where it hovered like a cloud.

And so, henceforth, those who looked to the Eastern skies, bearing their gaze towards the pale, would find the ivory bastion of Ando Alur locked up above. All who looked upon it were made witness to its beauty and splendor, for with the light of its wisdom, that blessed bastion hoped to fully dispel the darkness of ignorance forevermore.

Seraphite Viradiraar would pause at the commotion, the trip she had only just planned with her lari'onn postponed as the sky lit ablaze. Quickly, the mali' and her companion made eye contact, their eyes sparking with amusement at yet another display coming from a familiar direction. Soon, they were off. Leaving Cloud Temple and heading east, following one another as they almost raced to where they seemingly knew the light show was coming from, giggling like madmen.

The duo soon halted in front of their destination, Ando Alur, and their gazes slowly shifted up, up, up.....

The city was now in the sky, the two connecting the dots and realizing what the light show from earlier had caused. In amazement and curiosity, hesitance and wonder, they stepped forward and made way to the city, grins splitting their faces.

Seraphite, who had not uttered a single word through their entire adventure, turned to her lari'onn. "Freya," She began, her pale gaze looking to the other. "Look at how far we've come. Look-"

The Viradraar didn't say much after. Her thoughts seeming to swim in her head and cloud her mind. Some would love it, others would despise. Some would use it, others would see no gain from it. Some would feel proud of it, to others it brought deep shame. As she thought on the possibilities, Seraphite trekked on, looking around the city with Freya at her side, the two seeming to read the others mind as the silence between them kept. Both thinking, both absorbed in the sights around them.

But both with each other. And at that moment, it was all they needed.

Some peculiar mutt would be woken from its rest within the Barrow, its head poking out from the unhallowed earth as it came to regard the city in the distance. It balked at the sight, its countenance twisting into some deep and profound frown - though one might not say why.

Meanwhile, an 'Ame of repute would lay in her bed, shaking and quaking as the earth was torn asunder, the event unearthing memories better left in the annals of history...

[!] An old blue dwarf watched as the city rose, a rare grin appearing upon the otherwise cold expression he usually wore.

'The Seraph' -- Tadrilthial, looks toward the heavens with tired eyes. From the jagged pillars of rock, to the empty air, and above, to that floating city in pure astonishment.

"What."

She rubbed her eyes and glanced back down, kicking around rocks beneath her feet. It was indeed real land.

" . . . Aeonn? Am I seeing things?"

A Doctor of questionable abilities hummed quietly as he made his way home, though he paused as he grabbed his citizen key and ended up a portal. He paused in thought before finally speaking. "Well that's new."

The Explorer, Beryl J Carrington, from his perch at Southbridge was immediately startled by the quake, upon its conclusion immediately producing a small brass spyglass and peering on the horizon to the other direction of the Eastfleet, marvelling at the sight he could spy in the distance. "And so my journey to meet this Herald becomes ever harder..." He'd remark to himself, as he prepared for his imminent ascension to the citadel. "What a day this is turning out to be."

Meanwhile, from Karosgrad a small, twisted youth- Demetrius "Igor" Tsecsar frowns deeply, his rest in the estate disturbed, he made his way to the highest tower in the building, looking outwards at the sight, and being slightly confused about what it was he could vaguely make out, nevertheless - he simply shrugged and replied nonchalantly with "I'm sure mother will handle it." @TreeSmoothie

Goliath Irsei resided high within his stone tower, sat by his desk with quill in hand. Finishing a dry scroll did he uncork a bottle of wine, pouring it for himself as he took a few sips. Suddenly, without warning the earth shook in tremors as the elder was thrown from his chair! Making his way outside with bottle equipped, the odd sight immediately caught his eye-

“A floating city?!” He sputtered, staring with squinted gaze at the anomaly for nearly a full minute. Crested over a few mountains, in the distance waned the feat of sorcery. Then he shook his head, reading the wine label before lobbing it from the tower with a flick. “Must have been a bad vintage,” the mage hummed, making his way back into his quarters.

Athanas gazes up at the floating island in a mix of awe and surprise. "Neat. I wonder how long it took for them to get the calucations and accuracy right."
