ANNOUNCEMENT OF ABDICATION

Letters from the County of Freimark
On the 19th of the Snow's Maiden, 1851

Whilst the last one-and-a-half-decades  have been some of hard, yet enjoyable years of my life, seeing Freimark be born as a Barony from nothing, and then seeing it risen to a County through the many efforts and sleepless nights, all comes to an end, as they say. With the grace of GOTT, from whom all is done, was I chosen to be a leader and leader of my people. Gladfully did I take my duty, and held it on my shoulder with pride and determination. Through the building of Neuberg and Erwinsburg, through the founding and training of the Sons of Saint Tylos, and through the many memories and experiences gained, which I shall hold to the end of my life. However, sickness caught the better of me, and at first it was nothing out of the ordinary, until I understood it was it was indeed something of importance. It was a sign, a sign that whatever is created may wilt, as did my body, and not all effort will last to eternity. Thus, do I understand these signs which my sickness, allowed to fall upon me from GOTT, reveals to me. That which I build will be mine no more, and through a lowered, humbled head shall I leave that for which I worked all my life, for all comes to an end, all but the love of GOTT.

Similarly thus, do I wish to return to my ancestral roots in Haense, to aid my family, which GOTT has granted me, as well as the King and Kingdom it serves. Thus, together with my sons, Dietrich, Baron of Madvon, and Karl we shall depart to Reinmar, and rejoin with our kin, and abandon our titles.

Therefore, I write to inform the Crown of my willful abdication as the Count of Freimark to my eldest brother, Jurgen. He shall take my place as Patriarch of the House of Barclay von Freimark, duly exercises all prerogative, rights, and authority be vested with him and his rightful heirs.

OOC: Although it's sad it had to come to an end like this, just wanted to say that the grind put in in order to build Freimark as a County to what it became was one of my most enjoyable experiences I've ever had in LOTC. From growing the community to bringing people together, having fun RP and building a whole town, truly a blast. However, as the end of the year approaches I'll have to unfortunately become more busy with things such as uni, etc etc, which is why I've decided to end my 5 or so month long work here so I can spend the rest of the days simply vibing and chilling. Again, been a great experience and I've much love for everyone who stuck with me through it all, hope everything from now on goes well :)

IM NAMEN GOTTES,

THE RIGHT HONORABLE, Ernst Barclay, Count of Freimark, Baron of Madvon, Lord of Neuberg und Erwinsburg, Commander of the Black Cross

HIS LORDSHIP, Dietrich Barclay, Baron of Madvon

The letter would eventually reach the drunken Bruce, boarded in his hovel. With reddened eyes he'd crumble the letter, drops falling from his face upon his actions.

"Green and Blue I dress..."

The man would dip his empty tankard into murky barrel, brining the darkish brew once more to his lips, his ever wettened lips, long quivering from his incapable sorrow.

Sebastian would huff and wade his hand through his hair at the announcement, leaving Neuberg's throne room and making his way back to his home. He'd roll up his sleeves and lean on his creaky balcony fencing, looking out to the luscious fields surrounding the town, reminiscing on the past 8 years he'd had in the lands with the Count. Unaware of which path to choose for himself, he'd go and take a long walk along the beautiful shores of Savoy to think about it.

Whilst saddened that he would have to leave his southern home behind, the young Karl looked forward to finally being able to visit the Church of St. Tylos he had heard so much about alongside his father.

Dietrich, as they crested the hill with Ernst while riding on the carriage that was departing towards Haense looked upon Freimark one last time, seeing it's beautiful vineyards, thatched houses and smokey chimneys. He looked West to see the stone laden bastion of Neuberg stand proudly, knowing that he would not see the beautiful castle as often as he did before. Thinking upon his decision to forsake his inheritance, Dietrich smiled.

For being with his father was more important than some vague notions of rulership over men that he did not yet get to know. It was too soon. He trusted his uncle Jurgen.
