Kiiwi 1441 Popular Post Share Posted March 23, 2022 The Schemes of A Dove: Truth Revealed Issued by Sohaer Ayliana Valwynn Spoiler “The Phoenix shines so bright that often times the Dove is overlooked” -anonymous Ayliana was never one to speak up, she often stayed in her own world and made sure not to overstep others. She kept to herself. The younger sister of the late Sohaer Nelgauth was what she was known for. Oftentimes she was in her family’s shadow, always trying to make them proud with her every step. People hardly ever paid attention to her. Ayliana was nothing like your average mali’thill. She was kind, compassionate, saw others as equal and never resorted to violence. After being on Dimaethor’s council and seeing his corruption, she fled the Silver State where she lived peacefully with the ‘ame. There she learned that the elves are not so different from each other. She discovered a lot from that time, she understood the value of friendship and the importance of standing up for what’s right. The timid dove slowly growing confidence by the day. She eventually returned to the state, knowing she was going to change the racist, supremacist, and elitist plague from within. People were going to pay attention to her. [!] Letters are pinned to each posterboard of the nations within Almaris: “People of Almaris. I, Sohaer Ayliana Valwynn, come with a confession to you all. I have been on Ivarielle’s side since day one. Allow me to explain for those of you who may be confused. When I first walked back into Haelun’or, what I saw was heartbreaking. I was constantly left out due to being a Maehr’tehral, our Sohaer, Braxus Ni’leya was the cause of the torment for he was so set on the past rather than the future. He was a corrupt and greedy man who saw us not as people but a way to feed his own ego. I had to renounce my own family name just to be able to live in peace, lying about my hatred for them. I love my family. It was around this time I heard of Fenn’s efforts and Ivarielle’s cause. I took a long journey to Fenn, where I met with the Prince and formed a friendship of mutual understanding and trust. To fix Haelun’or. I knew with Ivarielle’s help we could do this. Some of my family and I met with her shortly after, there she explained the reformations and changes she wanted. She did not want to change Haelun’or’s core, she wanted to change what corrupted it from the inside. We formulated a plan together. I was to join the council and rise to power. From there the path was clear, I was to gain the trust of the people, form a support group and eventually join the council. I was friendly to Idenril, the Okarir’mali at the time. I cozied up to her and became her Tilruir’mali. I ran events for the state, gained more trust. Braxus eventually grew ill and stepped down, and Idendril rose to power as Sohaer. I knew that this was my only chance I was going to have to grab a seat on the council. I made sure to gather more allies and support as I campaigned to become the next Okarir’mali. I won the elections. I was a bit lost now, not too sure how I was going to continue to rise to power. Then it happened. Fenn declared war. They had one goal in mind, to clear the path of Sohaer for me. The Sohaer, Idendril, and the Medi’ir, Braxus, were killed in the pillage after Haelun’or had forfeited the war. Now all that stood in my way was the Maheral who simply wasn't, Elesia. I gained her trust, and soon learned she was no different from the others. Haelun’or was stabbed and she gave us promises to heal it. Instead, she shoved her thumb into the wound. Haelun’or grew unsteady day after day as the Maheral seemed to be absent at all hours of light. I used this instability to my advantage. I spoke with my fellow council members, pushed for us to have elections and whispered into the ears of those I knew would easily be persuaded. During a meeting to elect the new council members, which the Maheral was absent from, I was voted into power to become the next Sohaer. I fooled them all. We are now in the present day, I am Sohaer, Ivarielle is on the council and soon will take my place as the head of the state. I do not expect you all to understand my choices, however I did this for Haelun’or, for her people. I leave you all with a few last words: I am Ayliana Valwynn, and I am not to be underestimated. Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya." Signed, Sohaer, Ayliana Valwynn Spoiler Deleted the ooc part, it was wrong on my part. This whole thing was roleplay and should be left to such!

Crevel 4727 Share Posted March 23, 2022 Spoiler When I first came to Haelun'or, I came with the intention of exploring a roleplay community that I'd never encountered before. I mostly played a Human for the ~3 years that I've been on the server and I thought "Hey, a High Elf would be a new experience and it is something worth trying". I dabbled in other races here and there, but I never fully immersed myself into a non-human's community before. Suffice to say, it quickly became apparent to me that Haelun'or's OOC community was rife with issues. Conveniently, I came around the time that Kiwi popped back into Haelun'or. Both toxicity and sexism was blatant. These weren't behaviours that were only exhibited by some of the general playerbase, but it was also something being displayed by upper leadership, including the Silver Council and Nation Leaders. When there weren't individuals in leadership who acted in these ways, they did not seemingly make any effort to speak out against the behaviours.. some of them even encouraged it and the idea of breaking server rules. The interactions that I've seen between some people in voice chats and in text channels is absolutely horrible. Nobody should be treated the way that people are being treated. While I did not take as active of a role as others, I contributed to helping Kiwi become Sohaer and it is something that I'm proud of. She has a real potential to shape Haelun'or's future, and I think that it's important that Haelun'or is changed fundamentally so that its core elements that hold it back can be addressed. This whole ordeal has been tiring, and it's why just the other day I gave in a notice of resignation from Moderation to itdontmatta and it's part of the reason that I'm taking a break from LotC.

ScreamingDingo 16992 Popular Post Share Posted March 23, 2022 Spoiler At least this shows me why nation leader roleplay is dead, if basically everything to do with it has an ooc vendetta that transcends roleplay itself.
