WOE BE WE, THE FOOLED!

ON THE CULTISTS OF AENGULDAEMONICA

The favor of man, ‘tis a fleeting but necessary prize to be held by any guilde who might hope to see their machinations become manifest within GOD’s realm in the presence of His chosen.

WHY, then, do we discriminate when dealing with the guilds that center their acquisition of worldly powers from otherworldly beings? The snakes, the dragonkin, they have lost the favor of man! Woe be they, many slain and their leaders ousted from the realm. Pay close attention, child of GOD, to this next postulation. The dragon-kin and the lion-kin are, in fact, ideologically one in the same!

These so-called paladins, knights of Janus as they pretend to like to be called, worship the Aengul Janus! This is why they so mercilessly despise the dragon-kin, for they are the cult that worship a rival god! Woe be we, for we have been fooled, brothers and sisters we have been fooled!

Furthermore, those cultists of aspect and spirit find themselves in the same relationship with petty gods, subservient to our Creator as the cultists of lion and dragon. If we are to slay, inquest, and harass the dragons, whysofore have we allowed sanctuary to their ideological equals?

I call, brothers and sisters, for the treatment afforded to the diabolical dragon-men to be expanded to the rest of those heinous worshippers of their wicked pantheon. These cultists are to be killed on sight, and sent to meet what they earned from a life of heathenry and self-indulgence in ill-begotten power!

Soon following the publication of the missive, an envoy from the Order of the Golden Lion would ensure a copy of the ideological texts by which the knights of Janus adhere to was in plain view for all to see, conveniently located near the inflammatory document that had been put into circulation - as well as a small reply.

"We don't go out of our way to slaughter and bereave the realms of Man, for such is not our place. Ne'er has a city been destroyed in its entirety by the Lion, its people butchered and slaughtered for petty pride - whereas the Dragonkin have, indeed, laid waste to many a realm in pursuit of dominance and carnage. We despise the Dragonkin for many reasons, but the mere fact that they worship another idol is not one of them. We've already conferred with His Holiness to re-cement the fact that our doctrines are not in violation, or opposition, to the ideals held by the Holy Canon.

- The Order of the Golden Lion, beholden to the Aengul of Order, and sworn in leal faith to the Creator of All."

Upon his visit to evening mass, Theodore “Teddy” Talbot was read the above excerpt by the local pastor. His face contorted in pain; pain for the flock.

The deceptive worm that is “holy” magicians are nothing more than charlatans; warlocks in disguise. Soon after, he found himself within his cottage, pulling free a small chest: inside, a kettle helm and a crossbow. From the wall, a proud spear. He sauntered out the door then, meaning to find this Maester Durchdenwald.

A lions mane will fetch a fair price in the currency of the heavens this day.

A missive is sent, to Bärbel, and Bärbel alone.

To say that serpent and lion are not so different is a collective point already agreed.

Either side claims propensity as so-called saviours of the World.

Only one is blinded by light while the other is lit by fiery passion that burns.

Mine know no idol. Only a king. Our flesh. Our Azdromoth.

The world overmatches us, Bärbel.

Men make simple what they cannot comprehend.

And so they toil in the dark, each thinking that they are right.

And so they would call our race fetid, though their emperor shares our blood.

Lydia simply cringes. "The paladins do not worship Xan, Janus, whatever you wish to call him, they merely abide him as a Fatherist abides their paragon or a Canonist their saints. Speaking of- Janus is a saint in Canonism." A pause, she'd contemplate. "And I still have yet to see anyone worship the dragon that flies around the world, lingering over Arichsdorf once a year... such bold claims, so little ground to stand on."
