FROM THE OREN SURGEON-GENERAL

[!] A collection of hand-made masks  distributed by the Sanctuary of St. Amyas clinic.

 

          Citizens of Oren, Information has been received that a serious infectious disease has appeared within Oren. The illness is known as "The Rot", "The Melt", "Bloodrot", and "Brainrot". There are 2 confirmed cases - men who wore black, black masks, and goggles. There is another woman from Celia'nor who has had contact with them, but it is unknown if they are infected.

 

 Symptoms typically appear within 1 year of contact of infected. You may get infected and not realize it, but still be a carrier.

 

There are 4 known forms of the illness with 3 stages each. The stages are as follows: 

 

OL-I:

Stage 1: Persistent headaches, general tiredness, intensified eye strain. 

Stage 2: Troubled vision, development of cataracts.

Stage 3: Clinical blindness (Can only detect movement, blurred silhouettes of large structures with glasses).

 

OL-G:

Stage 1: Persistent headaches, general tiredness, intensified auditory difficulty. 

Stage 2: Increased ringing, advanced auditory difficulty, ear bleed. 

Stage 3: Deafness.

 

OL-U:

Stage 1: Regular stomach aches, vomiting or diarrhea, congestion.

Stage 2: Increasing trouble describing the scent or taste of things, bloody nose. 

Stage 3: Regular trouble breathing, ‘walking pneumonia’, decreased athletic ability.

 

OL-O:

Stage 1: Irregular bad mouth hygiene (Regardless of actions against), trouble biting, stuttering.

Stage 2: Troubled speech (slurred words, swelling tongue, increased stutter) patchy white spots on tongue, tooth decay, distinct loss of taste.

Stage 3: Swollen mouth; technical mute (Incoherent speech, inability to formulate words).

 

NOTE: While the other stages are progressing, the intensity of Stage Zero may increase in tandem. That is, the severity and impact of numbness on the patient’s nervous tissue can progress, until they can no longer feel their head attached to their own body.

 

          The disease is spread through contact with bodily fluids, especially when in contact with one's eyes, nose, and mouth. It is imperative that you wear a mask over your nose and mouth immediately. You may wear goggles if you have. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Avoid touching others bodily fluids - including but not limited to: tears, blood, saliva, urine, mucus, bile/vomit, etc. There is no known cure. 

 

If you come into contact with these bodily fluids and it does NOT touch your eyes, nose, or mouth: wash yourself completely and change into new clothes. Wash or in extreme cases burn the clothes to prevent infection. Continue to follow guidelines. 

 

If you come into contact with these bodily fluids and it DOES touch your eyes, nose, or mouth: wash yourself completely as well as flush out the eyes, nose, and mouth with salt water. Wash or in extreme cases burn the clothes to prevent infection.

 

If bodily fluids have been spilled, put on leather gloves and clean the surface with alcohol and a rag. Burn the rag. If in soil, scoop up the soil in a metal bucket and burn it. 

 

-Wash your hands with water and lard, alcohol, or gislocinovi oil.

-Avoid touching your face (nose, eyes, and mouth)

-Avoid touching other's bodily fluids

-Wear a cloth mask. Masks are being distributed by the clinic, please pick one up if you need.

-If you come down with symptoms, please isolate and alert Dr. Primrose Gendik.

Analiese read the missive with fear for her niece's health and safety, she set off for Azor immediately. Ordering the guards of d'Azor to keep everyone out but their family. The Widow Komnenos smoked her cigarette as her masked maids laid out their cots in the backroom of her shop, while the company guards carried up the food stock she'd ordered. She watched out the window as her many local staff dragged their feet back to their homes after being fired. The old Tycoon shook her head. "Just as we release our latest stock too..." She muttered, expressing her worries before her gaze rose to the sky as she realized she forgot her son. The old woman then threw a teacup to one of the fired servants.
