Preamble

The Crown of Amaethea and the Kingdom of Balian, hereinafter known as the Signatories extend one another’s hand in mutual friendship through a pact of non aggression and defensive alliance.

 

Terms of defensive alliance

 

1. The Signatories recognise each other’s claims to sovereignty and their right to the lands they claim as their own, ruled by their respected leaders. They also recognise their ability to claim land that is not part of their recognised government.
    
2. Under both nations' laws, the Signatories will encourage unlimited entry for civilians and refugees through their territorial boundaries.
    
3. The Signatories will enforce a partnership between their domains and will not instigate disputes. The signatories agree that they are willing to assist each other's conventional forces if they are threatened.
    
4. The Crown of Amathea and the Kingdom of Balian hereby pledge to fight together against any Darkspawn threats they may incur and share any information they know of in relation to these threats.
    
5. If an aggressor nation lays harm to either one of the Signatories, they are required to provide military assistance to one another. This clause may be void in the case of it affecting any standing pacts that The Crown of Amaethea or Balian may have with another foreign nation.
    
6. The Signatories agree to engage in commerce with one another whether through financial transaction or exchange of goods. The Signatories shall provide each other stalls in their respective capital cities to exchange such goods.
    
7. The Signatories agree to take part in cultural exchanges between the different Monarchs of the nations in order to broaden understanding in both domains. Such exchanges may be the exchange of texts, scrolls, knowledge and scholars.
    
8. This pact shall be in effect for fifteen years. Upon its expiration it may be revisited or renewed should both Signatories wish to do so.
