Yet sadly, many of these animals are forgotten due to their lack of documentation. The St. Otto Spaniel, also known as the Ottoshund, is a large canine native to the Kingdom of Haense. They are named after Saint Otto, who purportedly created the breed, and have a rich history: originally bred as watch dogs for the ruins of Vanderfell, they descend from various breeds of Carnatian herding and guard dogs, themselves the offspring of a former hunting hounds used by the nomadic Karnat tribe. Today, they can be found throughout the Haeseni highlands performing a multitude of jobs and tasks, including herding, hunting, and acting as watchdogs and emotional support companions. The oldest St Otto Spaniel (according to folk legend) was 25 years old. Avg. Height Male: 30 to 40 in Female: 27 to 35 in Avg. Weight Male: 200 to 250 lb Female: 170 to 210 lb Coat: Smooth, range from black to white to brown. Rarer coat colors include light blue, auburn, silver, and blonde. All have a colored puff of hair on their foreheads, with the alpha male and female having the largest. Eye Color: Brown. Rare eye colors include green and gray. Litter Size: 3-6 puppies Temperament: Known for calmness and patience, yet prone to sudden playful if forceful outbursts. Easy to train, very loyal, and great with children. Health: Susceptible to elderly heart disease, eye failure, late-induced food allergies, and skin sensitivities. Diet The Saint Otto Spaniel is known for its allergies and their vulnerability to digestive issuesm, so providing nutritious and wholesome food is essential for the owner.
