That he has pre-judged us despite our fight against the anathema, the necromancers, and the demons:  to which constant blood of the Magi is spilled to defeat- is a sign of sight that is narrow. But we shall broaden it, and allay the Clergyman's fears that we are naught but allies in the protection of the descendant soul.

Gerard would scoff at the words of the Grand Magister of Hohkmat, a fire of conviction in his eyes. "On my initial visit to that accursed place, a vile demon was not only present but welcomed with open arms by your people. They went so far as to offer the demon tea, a blasphemous act. One of these heretics even had the audacity to suggest they let the demon feast on me, a holy knight sworn to The Holy Mother Church! Your claim that your kind doesn't welcome demons is nothing but a facade, a thin veil to hide the truth of your unholy affiliations!"

Gerard, Holy Ser of the Holy Order of Saint Jude, would pen a letter to Cardinal Stanislaw, expressing his willingness to assist in investigations within the lands. The letter reads as follows:

"Your Eminence Cardinal Stanislaw,

May the light of GOD guide and bless your endeavors. I write to you with a fervent heart, offering my humble services to aid in the investigations within these lands. My eyes have witnessed unsettling scenes in their crypts, where the locals harbor hopes of their departed returning to the void, a realm tainted by the deceiver's influence.

In the pursuit of righteousness and the eradication of darkness, I stand ready to contribute my unwavering dedication. Let the will of GOD guide our efforts as we work together to unveil the truth and cleanse these lands.

In GOD's service,

Gerard, Holy Ser of the Holy Order of Saint Jude"

"The heartland accord was set in place to protect your people from unlawful intrusion on your lands. It will only get worse from here." The excommunicated knight chuckled "Fear not. Veletz will settle up the mess you have made and hopefully you come to your senses."

The Grand Magister directed Hohkmat to receive the zealous clergyman.

"The Bishop is welcome. The void is not outlawed by the Church, and it is practiced in manner here that involves no worship of devils or entities the Canon Church considers heretical. He may survey the public areas of our city, and we shall provide him an escort so that no member of our City confuses him - for we have had demon and VeletIan alike disguised in clergy clothing attempting to deceive us in times past.

For his enemies consider us a threat, but we are no strangers to outside entities trying to break our city. We ask the Bishop to avoid threats of violence, as we've currently tallied the deaths of numerous voidal entities, demons, undead, anathema  and even fights with Azdrazi - we've no need to see a Bishop of the Church to be escorted from our city for being able to carry himself with the strength of the Canonist flock.

As we presume the Clergyman is not a glutton, I think he will find himself quickly satisfied with what he finds. We shall, for now, not pause our military contributions to the fight against the Anathema - but are happy to pause operations should the Clergyman feel his inspection to require more than a few moments of his time."

Swiftly, a letter is penned back in response.

"To the Grand Magister,

Please do not fear. I do not intend to come into your lands with any intent to start or cause strife. We have not prejudged your people, and simply wish to ensure that the claims of Ibleesian and blasphemous cult-worship is not occurring in Canonist lands. There is no threat of death, unless if you plan on standing in the way of our righteous investigation. However, from your clear intentions, that is not the case - we too have fought against and purged the Anathema, the undead, the inferi, and great draconic foes in the past.

We will be bringing our own escorts; do not be alarmed - they are all holy-men of the Order of St Jude, who will not be deigning to break any secular laws. I will also be inviting some of my priests to venture through the lands. If they attempt to disrespect the populace, I will be ensure to sort them straight during our visit. Sadly, I cannot trust the escorts of your land; this does not come from a place of hatred, and I will be readily happy to accept any of your men or women to guide me through your lands, but there are claims most wicked even in the soldiery of Petra, so I must remain perturbed. If you feel the presence of our holy-men causes panic or fear, you may bring your own force of people as to negate this threat - but as I promise, there will be no violence.

Hopefully, this investigation ends in good faith."

GOD bless you,

Stanislaw Cardinal Westerwald

Auditor of the Church

Justice of GOD.

[!] An aging green monk wrote a letter to the Office of the Auditor from the woods.

"Whether Void is inherently Ibleesian has been debated. But Ibleesian or not, the Scroll of Gospel's Book of Provenance reminds us that no place was forbidden to us but the Void (1;8). And what was it that cursed Iblees and angered God, but when the daemon fell, and touched the Void? (1;17-19).

I will let your office determine the truth of this sorcerous city. You may find an elaboration of my thoughts on the Void within this work, my thesis;  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OJJ9fhNH4u0ATeXOoCKCpw5eogGxiBsPYK7avslWIBc/edit. I am, as you call, a nerd scholar.

May God bless you, and all your works,

- Jean.
