Name of Addition:

St. Robert’s Method

Purpose: This is an aesthetic and functional addition to alchemy that would allow more freedom in how ingestible potions are presented in roleplay. Potential use cases include edible medicine of multiple effects, and the disguising or otherwise aesthetic modification of potions in ritualistic use.

Brief Description: A process by which an alchemist is enabled to infuse the properties of an ingestible brew into an organic substrate, furthermore applied toward the creation of delightful infused dishes. Food infused in such a manner adopts a distinct mild bitterness, although remains identical otherwise.

Recipe:

    - 1 helping of lard or otherwise oily substance (Base)

    - 1 - 2 Ingestible potions of varied effect

    - Fire x6

    - Earth - Connection x3 - 9

Process: Firstly the measure of lard is melted in a pot, until fully and well liquified. The Connection and Fire signs and symbols are added, three Connection for each potion the alchemist intends to add, ripening the fat for the addition of alchemical brews. The alchemist shall then slowly introduce the potions into the oil mixture. This concoction must simmer uncovered and uninterrupted for a Saint’s Day, evaporating the original potion base, in order for the infusion to be complete.

Once the base is complete, there is little requirement to transfer the potion effects to various foodstuffs. One might fry or soak in the infused oil, or substitute it as cooking oil or butter in a recipe.

Usage: Upon consumption of an infused food item, one would rather instantly begin to feel the effects as digestion begins, just as if one had consumed the relevant potion(s).

REDLINES:

Spoiler
  • As always with drinking oil, drinking the oil by itself would cause great sickness of the stomach, generally resulting in forced expulsion of the oil and no effects retained.
  • One measure of base can infuse only one food item.
  • Infused food takes on the combat rules of a potion. It must be drawn, in a second emote shaken, and in a third emote consumed.
  • Due to the mounting bitterness of Connection, for every additional effect three additional emotes are required for the user to get the food down. A twice infused food would take six emotes to consume.
  • This recipe and process is considered rare, and must be learned in roleplay from one who has already been taught.
  • Tier Three.
  • Requires ST signature if and only if an ST signed potion is infused.

Alchemy requires 1) draw the potion 2) shake the potion 3) drink/throw/apply potion.

A neat idea, with one major comment - Specify limits on foodstuffs. Via this lore, you could have a single chocolate chip cookie that has the effects of three potions when consumed, and people aren't going to strip you of a cookie at the gates. Even with it taking 9 emotes, that's rather powerful.

That cookie would be consumed the moment the CRP/Event probably ended. However, jokes aside, an interesting concept I'd love to see. However, personal suggestion, I feel like one-two potions maximum should be applied.

Edit - capped at 2 potions. 9 emotes was stupid, originally written for a 2 emote potion consumption
