Pancho 4197 Popular Post Share Posted July 27, 2024 Late in the night as the moon shone upon the Kingdom of Vikela, the silent darkness loomed upon the city. Whilst the citizens slept, the roar of flames could be heard from the Ministry of Magic as Field Marshal Cerrick continued to slam his hammer unto steel late into the night as the citizenry and guards alike tensely slept. Steel clanged in rhythmic vibrations, sending sound throughout the whole street as the Paladin heard the words of his Lord, friends, and foes alike around his form. “Descendants have become nothing but cowards” The Aengul of Order decreed “You truly promise to protect this home?” Medea cried “Paladins are a naught but liars and deceivers” Caius declared“You are your own greatest enemy." Amelia whispered “Have you seen the lies of Light?” Leoni hissed “So childish, Cerrick. You are an embarrassment.” Ryvel lamented “You are doomed to your own demise” The Drakaar screeched Cerrick looked to the sky, wisps of sapphire mists filling his vision as the hammering of steel on steel came to a sudden halt. As though he had a vision of what was to come, tears began to stroll down the man’s eyes. “Ordo Praevalet..” He cried out into the night, a few patrolling guards coming to his aid as his scar began to glow with distress. Yet, in the flash of the moment his entire demeanor shifted. He stopped sobbing, instead looking up at the guards. “Evacuate the city, the war is lost. They will not have our home.” The light once in his eyes was snuffed in an instant, instead becoming dark as the night sky. A Lion appeared in his scar looking upset, one could even say it even had the look of hatred as it soared across his skin and attacked the Dragon upon his flesh. The two began to fight around the now spiteful sun as Cerrick ordered his guards, “Get the torches, we burn it all.” To the Citizenry of Vikela, I am Cerrick Fenifaer, a former Paladin of Xan and the current dictator of the elven state of Vikela. I took executive control of the Kingdom following the declaration of war from Luraq, the successor state to the Iron Horde and an ally of Azdromoth, who opposed the heavens. I knew that with Queen Medea’s inexperience with conflict, the war would be a lost cause. Little did I know that our affairs were in a worse state than I had thought. Our only ally standing, Brabant, fought bravely, even without being a part of the CCC alliance that was supposed to help protect us. But, this is the price to pay for foolishness in believing words over actions. Thus, I decree the following. I. The Kingdom of Vikela is officially disbanded, many of its own unwilling to bear arms. All noble and government titles relating to the state are to be revoked and dissolved, with only Royal or Military titles being fair use. II. The Kingdom of Vikela’s remaining treasury, all half a mina of it, will go to the State of Luraq as war reparations. III. The land of the capital and surrounding it will be burnt and salted, so that no life may be borne from it to represent the struggles of our people and their slaughter. For if our lives mean nothing, then those who wish for the land will find it lifeless. IV. While the Jungle is rebuilt by the Shamans and their Lodge, any that settle the land will be subject to the full brutality of any willing insurgents. I will not control people who do not care for order. V. I will go into voluntary exile from the societies of descendant kind and live my days in isolation, given that it is uninterrupted. This is to comply with the demand that Vikelans leave the continent forever. Thus, I am Vikela. I extend a warm thank you to all who stood among us on the field of battle instead of trying to influence us from the shadows. Even though I hold disdain for them, the Urukim fought bravely on the fields of battle. Yet, to the elves who betray their own race and claim righteousness, may the Faux Sun shine upon the shadows of which you plot under. There will be no peace for you or your ilk in the world to come. Ordo Praevalet. MAY LIGHT GUIDE, Cerrick Fenifaer, Paladin of the Fallen Xan, Formerly of Khamees, Former Field Marshal of Vikela Spoiler Spoiler Thank you to everyone who has joined the journey of Vikela over the past year and a half. Since I helped kill its predecessor, I have watched Vikela rebuild under new leadership. Even though I had a rocky start with the community, it was a joy watching new players come in and create such a community that was welcoming to new players and allowed them to flourish instead of indoctrinating them into the classic nation trap. Even though it was ultimately our downfall, it truly was a one of a kind experience on the server being able to interact with some of these kind folks. Thank you to the community for trusting in me to try and help win the conflict, and even more of a thank you to Mamluk, Dcsword, PCSwift, and the gang for coming out to try and save this roleplay community. Big props to JTMedea, 6Dark, CapyTiger, Nepir, and so many more for believing in the community throughout this whole process. Watching you having to lose what you worked so hard to build from the ashes was frustrating, but I hope you at least can play with the knowledge you tried your best to save it. GG's on the war, and see you in the next one.
Laeonathan 5891 Share Posted July 27, 2024 "Well, hunting that fallen Paladin who is now interrupting Darkspawn investigations might get a bit complicated, now that he is gone." Raziel scratched his head, "Refused a Darkspawn test and then fled the continent. Incredibly suspicious. Should I still bother? Hmmm!" He pondered then, unsure what to do. Spoiler good post btw.
PCSwift 1422 Share Posted July 27, 2024 Maethor Sythaerin, mercenary, soldier, and defender of Vikela stands upon the other side of the river, as he watches the very nation he was hired to defend burn. The once, peaceful city now ablaze in a bright light, shining for miles around. Upon his pallid face, a tear falls from his eye, as he now kneels before the river so close to the city. With a daemonsteel dagger, he cuts off his ponytail, sending it floating upon the river as he mutters a pray to Larihei. "May you give me strength, in these dark times."
don dada 579 Share Posted July 27, 2024 (edited) Surtr laments on the self-exiled Cerrick, though with much responsibility, he would find little time to greet them. Instead, he means to pray; to who, who knew, yet he intends a good destination for them to reflect, and reconcile upon their failures. He would find the cliffside of a distant mountain close to the ravaged lands, watching the blaze grow. Edited July 27, 2024 by madnorth
AlmondSto 80 Share Posted July 27, 2024 "Vikela did fall, as did Nor'asath.. That is harsh reality of elven life." Mayilu'maln murmured while reading the missive.
sam33497 7360 Share Posted July 27, 2024 "Razed and salted. . . Yes, this matches the temperament and history of their nation, there's not a huge difference." Silwyn was still slightly vexed by the act.
Malta 2811 Share Posted July 27, 2024 A ragged face grows taut with a wide toothy smile, a persistent mania lurking behind the gaunt man's murky eyes. He scanned the document, opting to roll a pack outside the remains of the smoldering capital city of Vikela. "Real city boy shit." Grumbled Mukumbura Ivonavich. "Smoked like a pack, fake ass xannite." He offered Daahd'lur a hit, laughing all the while. Spoiler @Sean_VEVO
Coronate 5528 Share Posted July 27, 2024 "It is the shame of the nation they did not relent when we first came to them. Woe unto them." A nearby officer spoke, There was silence as they awaited the Khan's response. "That they put up a fight is enough." Commented the Rex'Khan. "Find the mina they took from the treasury." Violet Medea 778 Share Posted July 27, 2024 An elfess stood before the fallen city with her staff. The place she once called home is now lost but instead of sadness, a soft smile rested upon her face "Mother, Sister...Vikela rests in the stars with you now, the sword that protects is now with its founders, please watch over it until I meet you in the stars as well. Until then, continue to watch over our people" She said before getting on one knee with a hand over her heart "It was a gift to be Vikela's knight...and it was a blessing to be its queen." Frisket 4539 Share Posted July 27, 2024 "what a waste...." Embers stared from the tree tops afar from the Vikelia lands, seeing the bright orange hours of fire. "If only they truly listened to the spirits, and fixed the jungle and didn't result to a xannite, they would of had some form of significance. Just like Ravenswood, The Vale and Nor'vaelyth." Then she stared at the forest, as she began to descend "And I know who's next...."

ellielove15 547 Share Posted July 27, 2024 The Devil-Knight of Dúnkeld would be roaming about the realms of Aevos, her mind plagued with nightmares and day-visions. Upon hearing of Vikela's razing, she frowns. "I hope Cerrick made it out." She murmured solemnly. 3 hours ago, Pancho said: “Have you seen the lies of Light?” Leoni hissed. Spoiler Leoni mentioned, I give upvote. :)
Periphonics 557 Share Posted July 27, 2024 Fal'leon had pieced together the occurrence well before the missive made its way to him, after a particular healing session. The once dual Minister, who aided in the brought of Vikela to its greatest of glories, all but shrugs at the news. "Th' jungle is r'claimed, if th' uruk're o' any wisdom they'll continue this pursui' 'till all na'ure impedin' kingdoms are ash." He grits out. "Th' only shame was tha' they buil' this new ci'y in such a manner tha' i' was so disrup'ive. I'd 'ave though' be''er." Anastatsya, her title of Minister of Justice, sighs in her readings and slumps into one of the chairs in her clan household, glancing towards the crackling fire. "I guess the timing is well enough for me... Now I do niet have to send my letter of resignation. Still pissed it was uruk of all people... Is all they do war people and be loathed by the world?" She asks no one in particular, earning a head tilt from her Samoyed. Spoiler gg vikela, had a good run plagued by people who form their opinions off of heresy. Best of luck to those who kept it alive, you're welcome for writing a giant law codex (that i didnt even use >:( i wanted to give people lashings)
