Redeclaration of War

In the short time since the signing of the treaty of Minas Aranath, the folk of Ravenmire had hoped to return to peaceful lives. Yet it was with no uncertainty that we decided to keep a close eye on the Aaunic lands, to ensure that terms of peace were enacted properly. Today it has been uncovered that despite the proposition being made clear, the Aaunic government has refuted and broken the agreed upon terms. This is not the peace the families of the victims were promised.

 

They have, in no uncertain terms, objected to the agreed ceding of Lemon Hill, rejected the regency of Canondom and disobeyed the word of High Priest Fleeper I. As clearly outlined within the treaty, violation of terms in any capacity allows for the enactment of just warfare.

 

Furthermore the agreement with which the treaty as a whole is built upon - that the councilors of Aaun would cede primary land-ownership to the pontiff has also been neglected, refuted, or delayed beyond measure for over five months. As such the treaty which was to tread into effect IMMEDIATELY is now considered fundamentally broken and must be re-negotiated. There is no point trying to patch up a bucket that is more hole than wood, entirely new terms of peace will be negotiated, ones that will be kept. The peace was meant to start five months ago, and not a single term was kept.

 

Should the HOLY MOTHER CHURCH’s demands be heeded, we will without hesitation move on to renegotiation with the HOLY MOTHER CHURCH, as we no longer have to make deals with Godwin Alstion and his idolatrous councilors. 

 

SHOULD THERE BE NO PEACE TALKS FROM THE SNAKE’S DEN, WE REASSERT OUR EFFORT TO BRING JUSTICE TO THE LOWLANDS.

 

1. The councilors and political allies of the King of Aaun shall be removed in order to promote peaceful rule of law. All persons found to be accomplices in the previous grievances listed in “The March of Liberty” and those responsible for the violation of the treaty shall be tried under Canon law.
2. Tiberias shall assume control of the entirety of the Lowlands and reimpose the rule of law. As the Regent of Whitespire, Tiberias shall ensure that the dictatorial measures advanced by the Aaunic Crown cease and that the suffering of the smallfolk shall be brought to an end. Political assassinations, kinslaying, and pervasive acts of violence shall not be tolerated in the Lowland Realm. Furthermore he shall reaffirm the treaty of Albarosa and co-opt with the church a new charter of the realm’s provinces.
3. The Heartlands shall be liberated from the rule of House Alstion. All formal titles belonging to the House of Alstion shall be dissolved or dispensed to the possession of the Ravenmire War Council. The successors of their family line shall all be left in the care of the Holy Mother Church.

To be fair to them; they did respond. And it was awesome. That is why they have the church's three given days to resolve the issue.
