THE AMETHYST QUESTION

 

I have decided to waste my time in writing a major issue on the server. Something greatly divisive, something which is at the root cause of all the problems on LOTC.

 

 

AMYTHEST TILES

 

The Amethyst Tile exists for no reason, it exists to vex the people of the south. AMATHINE, BALIAN, KOYO KUNI, KHANATE x 2. It does nothing, legitimately nothing. It is used to make spyglasses. It should be minable on resource island, not take up an entire tile of a resource. It does NOTHING. It does nothing and it pisses me off.

POTENTIAL FIXES

In a more serious regard, I write here because Amethyst tiles are utterly useless in every regard, I have a variety of solutions to propose to fix this and would like to hear from the rest of the community about their opinions of what to do with the tiles.

 

• Solution 1: Altering The Crafting System
  
  I was made aware that the map start Amethyst was intended to be used as a repairing resource, something to raise the durability of items. If this is the case this might pose a potential solution to the issue faced by the non application of Amethyst tiles.
   
• Replacing Amethyst Tiles
  
  A potential solution to the Amethyst issue is removing the tiles entirely and replacing them with another resource. For fairness this replacement should be randomized and not picked; a tile ultimately is what you put on a map that takes less than 3 minutes to alter, removing Amethyst and replacing it with another resource that is actually applicable is simple and should not be a cause for alarm.

Just have amethyst be a gstherable resource in normal mines instead of being a tile exclusive.

With a bit of LC you can set up your own budding amethyst blocks and have your own mine, thus making the tiles even more useless than they currently are. Fix the tiles!!!
