[Art by MimosaMoi]

It all started when Gregorius and his brother ventured through Almaris, seeking a new home. They had just arrived in the East, a place lush and green—so different from the white desert of his youth, the snowy pits of the North. As they admired the land, a group of horsemen suddenly appeared, their armor foreign and intimidating. Gregorius feared the worst, imagining them to be bandits. But before he could react, a blonde man spoke: “Do you wish to join Minitz?” Surprised and relieved, Gregorius agreed without hesitation. And so, their lives took a new turn as they were taken to Minitz.

Time in the Viscounty passed quickly, perhaps too quickly for Gregorius’ liking. He made new friends, eventually forming the tribe of Roa. His position in the Warband of Theoderic rose steadily, bringing him into contact with notable figures like Robert Stroheim, who rejected his offer to join Roa. Gregorius respected his refusal, admiring the man’s strength and independence.

Another encounter, this time with Slith (Tin Can) Cobbet whom Gregorius initially mistook for a merchant evolved into a friendship that lasted for decades, if not centuries.

How had it all turned out like this?

As the years passed, the path ahead grew uncertain. A visit to Orion Adler in the Duchy of Helious disturbed him deeply. “And Minitz’s walls will burn to the ground,” the elf declared, his rage evident. The words left Gregorius uneasy. Jarad Munnel, Duke of Helious, offered him refuge, but Gregorius politely declined with "I don't think you could offer us a 14 people house, so no" his words, misunderstood. Which, soon reached the ears of Minitz’s leadership. Summoned for an explanation, Gregorius tried to defend himself, but his words fell on deaf ears.

He was given an ultimatum: to swear allegiance to the Barclays once more or leave Minitz forever. After deep reflection and a visit to his long-standing friend, Yvian Galken, Gregorius made his choice. “It’s not worth swearing my allegiance to you if you can’t trust my word already,” he told Duke Leon Barclay, a man he had long respected. And so, he left Minitz, with those of his kin by his side.

Soon after, Aurik Bishop tasked Gregorius with rebuilding a city that had fallen into disrepair. To his surprise, his reward was not just monetary but Lordship of the city.

He led with pride, although tensions arose when an attack on a Barclay took place on his lands, orchestrated by Orion, now a vengeful wraith. Despite Gregorius’ efforts to clear his name and offer a bounty on Orion’s head, the weight of suspicion remained, both caused by the betrayal of both a former friend; And his lover. Thus, Gregorius lost Pavia, his short-lived dream of leadership shattered.

In the years that followed, Gregorius sought refuge in the Principality of Helious, then later in the Grand Principality of Aeltarys—until both collapsed. In his twilight years, Gregorius settled in Balian with his family, becoming a hunter in the Paradisian Adventurer’s Guild. There, at last, he found peace, the emptiness inside him finally filled as he embraced a quieter, simpler life of adventure and family.

“It will be alright”

“Take care of my family, aye?”

Gregorius’ memories suddenly stopped in those two. His whole world now fading to black, all his affairs were in order already, he had been eager for this moment, for this peace, for the call of the Lord to meet him, his family and friends, thus, he readily accepted his calling.

[Letters, inheritance and everything would be handed after his death, I am just too lazy to write them rn, so imma write them privately :^)]

When Ornella heard the news of her grandfather's passing.. She felt numb, her head spinning- she took a seat on the ground and placed the cloak he had made her around herself.. Struggling to turn it on so it would heat up. He was the one constant in her life.. and to loss her parental figure. Her thoughts were cloudy- she felt sick.

What would she do without his guiding hand? Or his wisdom on what to do..? How would she look at her reflection and not hate what she saw now? While she was his granddaughter. She had Gregorius's pale blue eyes. His nose.. His hair. She had always been proud to be a Roa, she loved it.. But now? Now it was a reminder of the loss of the most important person in her life beside her son. She hated it.

She dawned her mourning silks, or at least she did when she could muster the ability to put herself together.

"Y'don' look a day over 90, Greg."

How many decades passed since he said that?

Sydney doesn't feel sad, exactly. He and Greg were far from close. They never had been.

It's more the sense of...

Someone who used to always be there, won't be there anymore. The old man won't be spotted around anymore. There's one less person from Sydney's days in Balian.

Annette, Casimir, Naya.

And now Greg.

The list grows and grows.

A saddened look donned over Walter's face, as he was notified of his dear friend's passing. Slowly one by one, his friends were passing away. His train of thought immediately went back to the days of Pavia, where Walter had been caught looking for books on medicine in Pavia's clinic when he was but an amateur practitioner. That day, Greg had spared his life and recruited him instead of approaching with hostility.

Now going through the pages of the book he obtained then, he promised to keep his friend's memory alive until his last breath. After all, people die twice; once when their soul leaves their body, and twice when their name is uttered for the last time.

"May your soul rest within the protection of Feidelhm, old friend."

"He's A Good man Ember, watch him closely, his decision making mostly"

"Yes father... Will he not join us, like the rest?"

"A man like him has much to do, in time. He's an ally, a worthy one, but in time."

To her, The Roa was but another Human family seeking what all families looked for, Glory, Riches, Power. In some forms Ember was right. In her lands Gregorious Roa prospered, in many lands She heard of him, because of the failings of the Bishop family. Most people she knew also knew of Greg.

In Embers life or...life's, she met many humans, yet only two stood out and gained her favor. Her dearest Brother Aldrych and A simple man with silver hair with one hell of a fashion taste. Named Gregorious Roa.

In her heart, The Former Princess felt saddened. The Spirits echoed in her mind as Kor witnessed another soul enter the soul stream. Even if she wasn't there at his side once more. The feeling and memories of Greg lingered like a final blaze only for it to soon perish.

"Llun, old friend...."

Xavier Adiler received the letter bearing the Roa seal on it, however, it remained closed, the elf being stubborn in his sourness towards Gregorious which extended to his whole House.

The words of the old Roa echoed in his mind and instantly sparked anger in his heart
"You are like your father"  Xavier did not know Greg, he didn't bother to learn anything beyond the past of the man knowing his father, and he had the urge to toss the letter into the fire, but... his curiosity couldn't help but wonder what words were written if it was excuses or more slander.

"Fine, let's see what you have to say- I will amuse you one last time" and so, the Adiler picked up the letter and broke the seal...

Sarah Artenin, long time friend of Gregorius Roa, opened up the letter.

'Hello Sa'ah, if you're reading this I, Gregorius Roa, am dead.

P.D I WON THE RACE!!! SEE YOU UP THERE YOU SLOW-POKE!!!'

She just shook her head and laughed...

His last joke cut through the sadness she might have otherwise felt.

She wishes him well, wherever he ended up.

I opened the door to the house, shaking off the snow from my shoes and slipping out of my coat. “Hey, honey, just came with all the things you asked pick up from that stall near the town square” I called, my voice a little muffled as I made my way through the hallway, taking off the things inside the hand-knitted bag my daughters had made years ago and placing the on the counter.

As I entered the living room, I noticed Evelyn sitting on the couch, her face pale, eyes red, holding a letter with trembling hands.

“Is everything alright?” I asked, rushing towards her direction. She didn’t look up, and simply handed me the letter, her lips barely moving. "Alci…" she whispered.

My heart pounded as my mind raced through all the possibilities. Could something have happened to Stella or Alice? Were they hurt—or worse? My hands trembled as I noticed a ripped envelope on the floor with my father’s seal on it “No, he couldn’t have…” I hesitated for a moment, almost as if I knew what it was about, before slowly unfolding the letter, and reading it.

Im still surprised he managed to survive this long despite putting himself in danger on a daily basis

As Gregorius came to the seven skies Sir Yvian looked on with a soft smile on his face, it had been many decades since they last saw one another, a whole life time had passed. Yvian offered a simple handshake, and the words;

"It has been long friend, it is good to see you."

Camilla Falkner felt a joy over the last enemy of her dead kin reaching his final days. She smiled just a moment, before taking a gasp. "He was the last one I was waiting for to die. It only took me nearly ninety years. Now I can finally rest." The former Augusten spoke to herself, her mind had been on decay for some years now. "Cosima Monika von Augusten and Valentina Avoran can finally rest in peace, as can I, I suppose." She drank from her whiskey glass noticing its emptiness, it had been like that nearly an hour the thought fleeting from her memory.

Ilaria, long dead, had dreaded meeting her ex-husband in the skies for some time now. But she did, with pursed lips and an expression of remorse. Perhaps in a different life they would have been a real family and ruled Pavia together. Now, however, the only thing that could be uttered from the late Amador's lips were, "Vy did well, Greg. Vy deserve vyr rest now."

Gregorius looked towards Sir Yvian Galken after arriving to the Seven Skies, drawing a smile 'pon his face as he nodded his head "Longer than I ever expected, sorry for keeping you waiting, my friend" the man said as he accepted the handshake "Do you know where Leon might be?" the man wondered, needing to do one thing in the Seven Skies before finally clearing his mind of all the troubles that happened in his life

When Emmeline heard of his passing, she was stunned. She knew it was coming, the man was deep into his life already. However, she sat there, in her home, unable to form a single word. She stared at the wall, and for what felt like the first time in a long time, she felt sadness. Not only did she lose a friend, she lost someone who was like family to her. "Rest now, Greg.. God knows you deserve to rest."
