It is up to the player, but I will loose respect for you abd not want to interact with you if you don't give your character consequences for loosing.

Some people make characters that have lasting value and roleplay implications on others that don't get replaced in two weeks. Heh

I like this guide. Time to ask a silly niche though. Can you give any recommendations about using a warpick in crp? I want to get into using one but I want to do it right.

im actually not a crp head for weapons despite writing this, I hope someone can come in here and  help you better than i can . .

But I would say for weapons which require swinging/momentum to use, I'd be careful or aware of roleplaying the amount of space I have around me. That and being aware when to use the piercing vs the blunt damage of the pick; I.e, with heavy armour being more vulnerable to blunt-force trauma vs. medium being vulnerable to piercing/slashing

  • You can dodge and attack in the same emote so long as you are reasonable.
  • You may draw your weapon and attack within the same emote.

Is this true currently?

I am not that familiar with a litany of current rules however this stands out to me as powergaming. And like, uncouth.

Am I out of touch? I may be undergaming a lot but I would absolutely not adopt this in my own emotes.

It's sort of situation dependent. Someone mentioned it earlier but if it was ONLY attack / dodge, whoever threw the first hit would win %100 of the time. I just try to act reasonably, you have 2 hands after all. Pulling a shield up to glance a hit off and then swinging is reasonable, but equipping a shield from thin air and THEN blocking would likely be too much. Or maybe you use the edge of the weapon to take the blow, and pivot off that into putting the blade in their shoulder.

the dodge 'action' is a flat out, the attack misses you take no damage. I.E - being focused on defense might mean instead of swinging, you pull your sword back to prepare for another attack. Or use your shield, and then move back into a more favorable position - etc. That only really covers melee combat, though. If someone was charging a bow / spell I wouldn't expect them to be able to react without dropping that action.

Yes, refuse a hit + return a hit is the state-sanctioned pareto optimal allocation of action-economy for 14 year old child soldiers with infinite stamina.

You can draw + attack is the current rules, yes

The dodge and attack one is aptly put by Karina, it's most definitely situation dependant. As I said in my example, not all emotes should be considered as a dodge + attack emote; depending on how you dodged, an attack isnt always feasible

  1. However, if you choose to dodge an attack by “throwing yourself to the ground”  to avoid an incoming horse charge, reasonably you should spend your turn “getting up”.

Generally because CRP is just "Action" and not major and minor, its more fair to let people freely defend/parry so long as its not as the example said and then retalite with their magic or wepaon, redlines permitting

Hi there, CRP minmaxxer here.

they are effectively hammer/mace reskins that can hook/grab onto people/objects/armors/shields on top of cracking heavy armor open with a big enough wind up, or be used to slash and stab at very, very close quarters combat. hope this helps 👍

B is completely true

A however Is NOT

You can NOT dodge an attack and attack in the same turn, you must take a hit to be able to attack in said turn

you can't /me rolls and /me stabs In the same turn

the current mod consensus is that we allow dodging and attacking at the same turn so long as its reasonable

karina's comment puts it the best tbh if you scroll up to read it
