There are a lot of knights who should be recognized but I don’t think it’s really about recognition to be fair. My best given would be probably Gort.

I'm loathe to say this because he was very bad to my character at the time IRP, and the OOC actions of his IRP supporters turned me off to human politics entirely for about two years, but Ser Maric Varodyr was probably the most consequential knight who acted primarily in his capacity as a knight in humanity's history.

It's been years since I've thought about him but basically, he was the Grand Knight of the Fourth Empire and eventually led a rebellion against it in that role. He succeeded in his revolt, overthrowing Emperor Alexander I (the Barbanov progenitor, played by Arkantos) and ruling over the remnants as King of Renatus for a while. His realm eventually collapsed and King Andrik Vydra proceeded to restore the Kingdom of Oren.

To this day, I still think of him when I think of a consequential knight on LotC almost 11 years later. That doesn't mean he's the greatest, far from it, but he was one of the most consequential knights who shaped the server as an active knight.

Additionally, I feel like the Hochmeisters of the Teutonic Order would all qualify in that same vein if you were to consider them knights, which they all technically were. Gaius Marius, Mirtok DeNurem, and Jonathan Black all come to mind as extremely consequential knights who shaped humanity in this regard. I definitely have fonder memories of the latter two.

The famous Chivay brothers were also knights who had a tremendous impact on the server in this same vein.

I believe you're forgetting the two greatest knights, the terrible duo: Ser Milonir, the Biggest Fattest Knight of Whitehall, and Ser Onon - Heroes of the Petra.

The Weight Watcher, the Lord of Lard, the Tortilla Tornado, the Gluttonous Gladiator, the breaker of Floors and slayer of All You Can Eat Buffets will always be my #1.

a duo as noxious as sink gunk🤢 the onion knight and the unwashed walrus. can you even imagine their stench when they stood next to each other. im gonna hurl. i would give anything for a sir onon sir milonir lord walter weiss rp again

ser trende and ser avenel r the two i think of, trende as the model of a pvper knight and avenel as the model of a lectoid magi-lore knight, that remain pretty unmatched and will likely remain so for the foreseeable future.

avenel was awesome. my almost 5 centuries old elf was buddies with him, and was taken on as a protégé by him at one point- looked up to him as a mentor. my character greiret still references him very often in roleplay, usually to ask for his guidance and wisdom now that he's a saint.

Do not invoke that name. He should be ToS'd if he's not already.

Ser Braxis Silverblade.

Hard to say, there are a lot of very influential characters, but I'd say someone pre-2016.

EDIT: I do feel a little bit of envy at not having been able to leave a mark on the server's history myself, but life's life

Darius de nurem is probably up there. Was a big dog in mordskov eventline, bodyguard of mogroka, sariant, etc etc. Peak OG knight along the likes of phil, mordu, skylez and the other fellas.

Flattered to have gotten some nods and mentions but Victor is a drop in the bucket of history.

This is probably my personal pick.

it is going to be Ser Peter Chivay.

This is likely the objectively correct answer.

lol it’s a character I remember from when I was 13-14 years old on lotc. Please refer to the original text. I only remember a guy in knight armor with a carrot as a kid.
