Reasons for Downtime.

Greetings, fellow Aegisians!

You've probably noticed we've had some downtime on both the Servers and Forums over the last few days.

The reason for this is that we are currently being relentlessly DDoS'd by a unknown group. However, we are working hard to repel the hackers and keep our servers online, providing the RP experience you know and love.

Remember, take screenshots of your inventory periodically!

Why? It might seem to be a annoyance, but it will guarantee you a reimbursement if you lose any items due to a crash (Remember to have a visible timestamp in the picture).

In the meantime, why not explore the Forums? The forums are a great place to RP and share experiences with other Adventurers, as well as search for information on strange and new places!

Sorry Guys it is all my fault let me explain:

Over the past week I have not shaved and my beard has become longer and more ragged than I have let it get before. I believe that my beard may actually be causing the DDoS attacks because it is jelly of all the time I put into the server, which is really not a nice thing to do. I have tried looking in my beard for a pc which could be used to send/trigger the attacks but to no avail, I think that it must be hidden deeper withing the beard, down at the very roots of its origin. I humbly apologise for all the issues which have cropped up because of this.

I am not a epic computer geek, but couldn't you just sheald or block the ports the DDOS attacks are coming in from?

Also, wouldnt the DDOS attacks leave a IP address that you could look up then, as mentioned above:

That would shure show them. I think I may also know the program thats sending the DDOS attacks. It is called Low Orbit Ion Cannon, or LOIC for short.

This is probaly a meaningless rant, but if it has a grain of truth in it, please take that and use it.

rakin, vaq and shift would have already done that...they are computer savvy and the programmers for the server, whatever can be done they have been doing
