I am an Orc, and a pretty normal Orc at that... But I was wondering if I could do some Orc rp with somebody, I have noticed the lack of 'homosexuality' in Aegis and amongst the orcs... I am looking for someone to be my Character's mate, but male.

I think this would add a twist in Orc culture, the battle for acceptance and respect will hopefully make the Orc people more than a 'See and kill' Nation.

Although as of now i am a orc cub being raised by elves at the moment. The orc cub is not the twisted one btw. On another note Craotor is the only orc to ever see me just yet. He got lucky one day when i was lurking around...

No mating is involved, generally I would like less 'Kill things' orcs and more Kind orcs, the mating part is too graphic for my liking, we may adopt a child if this lifts off.

This has an OOC reason aswell, hopefully it may teach children on this server acceptance for homosexuality.

And this is exactly what's wrong with the direction Orcish Culture is taking recently. You are part of the Warnation of Krugmar. Not the kindnation or the pretty-pretty-princessnation, the WARnation.

Maybe you didn't read the lore, so let me catch you up with a brief summary:

4 brothers.

Iblees walks in.

Iblees corrupts all brothers but Krug, the Father of all Orcs.

Krug fights Iblees in a duel, chases him off.

More stuff happens, Iblees is defeated.

Iblees curses all the races as follows:

Humans: Mortality, ability to die of age and disease

Elves: Infertility

Dwarves: Shortness/ugliness

Orcs: BLOODLUST

By RPing as a "Kind" Orc you are technically doing the following:

Powergaming: You are refusing to accept a Curse that was applied to you entire race. You are saying "I am somehow better than the lore and the rest of my race, I don't have to be kill orientated because I am awesome" which is the exact essence of powergaming/mary sue-ing.

Encouraging others to break lore: As much as we may be unaware of it, many new players look to veteran players for direction when it comes to what their RP should look like. When someone joins the Orcish nation and sees everyone being "nice" and trying to keep the peace and calm everyone, they assume that is the proper way for them to RP as an Orc. They may not even be aware of the lore concerning the Orcish curse, or maybe they are aware of it and just assume it is disregarded. This pushes further lore inconsistencies as players begin to assume more of the cannon lore is irrelevant.

Breaking Racial Niches: This is the most important one for me. Each race has it's niche for RP. Humans have a very open Roleplay, Elves are very well mannered, nature loving creatures who are also family protective (due to their infertility) Dwarves are proud, and work related (in the sense of aspiring to be blacksmiths and miners more than is generally common with other races) and Orcs are specifically meant to be hostile and war orientated (that hostility being balanced out by a sense of Honor, to keep them from just raping innocents without any reasoning behind it). If you want to be a kind person surrounded by pretty things go join the elves. That is exactly the kind of thing that is promoted by their niche. Do no come to Orcs, which is supposed to be a race for all those that want to war and fight and ask them to change their niche to what you want. If everyone RPed like an elf, why do we even have races?

Lets just toss out all the races and make everyone an elf. Then we will take those elves and seperate them into groups that fit what each group wants to RP like. We will have one group of elves for those that want to be pretty, one group for those that want to be profession based, one group for those that want to RP as warriors and one group for those that are very open for what you want to RP as. Then, maybe we can call each group a different thing, to make them all distinct and unique. Maybe the pretty group we will keep on calling elves, then we can call the profession group something like... ummm... I dont know, something crazy like dwarves. I personally think Orcs sounds like a good name for the warrior group and the last group can be something generic, like humans. Oh wait...

I know everyone wants to "have their own playstyle" and create unique characters, but GEEZ. The orcs were CURSED IN LORE WITH VIOLENCE, HOSTILITY, and YES, PHYSICAL UGLINESS. WE ARE A HIDEOUS, NASTY, SAVAGE RACE. Kindness is not how we roll. We are honorable, but honor =\= sweetness and gentleness.

Don't like it? Pick a different race.

I joined the orcs to be a nasty, bloodthirsty savage. The fact that there are so many kind, gentle, and PHYSICALLY PRETTY orcs running around makes me legitimately angry.

For the love of Krug, don't break the lore. Don't. It's already broken enough. Please.

((I support the theory that players should be allowed to play however they want. Where I feel the line is crossed is when this negatively affects other people. If you play alone, or with a small group of friends, not bothering anybody else; I don't care how you play. The problem starts to crop up with what Blawharag said. You become a role-model for new players/future orcs. The average orc is not cuddly or friendly. The average orc looks down on other races. The average orc is big and tough. These are all facts from the very lore of Aegis. I understand that orcs are the "fun new kid on the block" and everybody wants to be their own orc. The problem is that if everybody does this, it stops becoming "different" or "special" and becomes the new norm. not only does this degrade orc heritage and lore, but it affects all the other people that actually become orcs so they could be... orcs. You have to remember, you're roleplaying with dozens of other people. Your actions do affect the world, no matter how small.))

Dont take me wrong, I still love to kill, Maybe I worded that wrong Blaw, I mean by a Merciful Orc, not a Kill on sight Orc, I still love to Murder and Whatnot.

If this somehow happens, I will keep on the xtreme downlow and NO MATING IS INVOLVED, (Too graphic).
