Hey Asulon,

I'm still without a real computer, but I did manage to find an old piece of garbage in my basement and replace enough parts to get it to run Unix, so hopefully I can get a patch out by mid week next week.

Back on topic however, we've been noticing an increased amount of complaints and frustrations over the larger travel distances in Asulon than we had in Aegis. This resulted in players complaining that there is a lack of RP since it's very hard to find people around you. We've tried to combat this with lowering soulstone cooldown and having major points of RP, but it hasn't resolved the issue.

As a GM team it's very hard for us to find the perfect balance between RP and gameplay, and this is one of the things that really needs to be fine tuned in my eyes.

So I'm asking the community for help here, please take a moment to vote in the short poll up top, and then post a comment submitting any thoughts or ideas you may have to help us both promote more RP and still maintain rewarding travel times. (I.E. make a command like /create rp group, /invite to rp group, once rp group is full move all players to one location, etc, etc.)

I for one like the increased travel times.

Perhaps a party command such as the one found in that one plugin who's name slips my mind.

It kinda went something like this...

/party Renatus_Caravan

*Party Renatus_Caravan has been created.

/party invite/add Player 1

*Player 1 has been added to the party.

I think it was like that anyways.

Perhaps the nations could build ports and have a fast travel system with ships.

Maybe remove cooldown time for soulstones when you first login and die plus give everyone 1 /setsoul and donators 2. Also allow all users even if they have set their soul to also use it to go back to their capitol city.

Its not really distance that is the problem its more of dieing of hunger then dropping a 3 meter drop and dieing before you get there

We need a way to quick-travel places. To get to the elven lands, you have to go across an ocean. Perhaps make a Boat-System Ferry across oceans. We still want people to travel on roads, but other ways of transportation may be ideal.

We could have fast-travel, but have it, that it only happens at certain times of the day, and that you have to pay a small fine to use the ship/railway/flying pony.

If we did a fast travel plugin, it would need to be physical warp locations. I.E. boats that go to other boats.

EDIT: And you need to pay to use them.

I don't mind the long travel distances.

Roads are still being worked on to connect places, so that might be a factor.

I don't have much, but the party system idea sounds good, though maybe the teleport feature might be a bit much. knowing each other's location I belive would fit better.

Edit: I remebered a plugin that I was linked to a while back, VoxelVoyage, a MC flightpath system like in WoW. I have been told it's configurable to take money.
