    • No, the map size is fine, the travel distances need to be addressed.

Tele-boats are the solution. The long distances by empty land are unpleasent but being unable to messege a friend or check your email for fear of drowning because you're crossing the minecraft equivlent of the Pacific Ocean by holding down space bar and w until your fingers get stuck permanently into a pincer like shape is much much worse.

I'd reccomend having boats at a midway point for a total of three exact copies (voxel copied by GM's from first?) of the ferry. Boats would have to follow reasonable voyage routes. For example A boat from the elven capital of Normandor would not travel along the entirety of Asulon to reach the Dwarves in one trip. Rather the trip should take it's passangers to Salvus, which would have another boat going to Hanseti, to the island of Emperyeal, and finally arriving at a Dwarven coastal city. Ports in this Pan Asulonian journey should have at least two boats one going in each direction. I propose a price of fifty minas per boat ride. While this is lower then what many have suggested, due to the different boats needed to be paid for a round trip would set someone back 400 minas. I also don't think the profits should go to the Monks, rather the nation or individual who owns the boats. This would lead to both strategic and economic reasons to hold a port city.

It would be nice if their was a ship charter/app for individuals as well as nations. The app would contain information such as travel route, reason boat is desired, and use of boat. perhaps requiring around 10,000 minas or more as a flat rate or it could depend on size of boat and travel itinerary. The owner(s) of the boat would have to pay to have the boat travel to specific ports(and receive GM approval and placement of tele powers). Some cities would be more desired harbors then others( I.E Salvus charging much more to place a boat in its docks then some small island vilage This would allow a wide variety of maritime adventure and creating a competitive environment for travel services as well as a supply of revenue to cities through boats paying to use their harbor, and any nationaly owned boats fares.

This system would limit the amount of players with ships, so the server isn't clogged with everyone and their mother's ships. It would also lead to great nautical RP and would open up some interesting professions such as ship builder, captain, and just maybe allow piratey types to raid the high seas from their ships. Not every teleboat would have to a public use ferry. Private sailing yachts for royalty, trading ships, and wealthy guild transportation would be possible as well.

Below is a crude rough of a possible route for continental trip. Note: Travel in both directions should be possible.

What the hell is up with these people...

Everything is perfectly fine as it is now!

Fast travel boats would be nice, but if you need to get somewhere you can also use a regular boat. Maybe just make it so you can place boats anywhere.

Hmm.. Or we could make it so unless you drop from X high, you won't die you'll only be 1hp'd. Cause you don't die from a 4 block jump lol.

That would definitely help. Still, I think the there's need to be a few more animals roaming about. The current spawning system isn't creating nearly enough wildlife due to the large population of players.

The thought upon Travel Distances, it would be cool if we could input some kind of 'fast travel' system. However, it would cost Minas/Specific Item.

That could help with the amount of people not being able to get around the large map. The fast travel areas could be made in each nation and the Wilven Sanctuary. It would be a small house, with an NPC which could ask you where you would like to go, and then they would take you there, Via boats/horses. Obviously, you wouldn't physically walk there with the Fast Travel system, you would be TP'ed there in a matter of time.

Just my input, anyhow.~

I love the distance. It's a challenge. What we need is more opportunity for RP along the way such as taverns.

Like a lot of other people, I think that each capital city should have either a boat or a wagon that teleports(for a price) you to a boat or wagon(boat to boat, wagon to wagon, obviously. And the two cities' docks would need to be connected by water for boat travel.) in a nearby city. The cloud temple would have wagons leading straight to all the capitals with varying prices depending on the distance from the temple. ICly, you would have travelled on the wagon/boat. It's only because of game mechanics that you teleport.

Bring back Aegis' ships? Make some ports around the coastal regions of the continent, leading to other coastal regions. This would make ALOT of us much happier people. But besides that, if there were minecart stations that lead underground from nation to nation, that would be the best possible travel route.

Its not really distance that is the problem its more of dieing of hunger then dropping a 3 meter drop and dieing before you get there

I agree

Perhaps in order to address the traveling issues, how about create a race-selective warp list. In turn, after someone uses a warp, they wouldn't be able to use their soul stone until a certain amount of time again.

Maybe the fast travel system could work like the paths, where one would pay the GMs a large sum of money in exchange for a port. Then the individual ports that would be paid for can be connected to larger ports in the larger cities like Alras, which would serve as large hubs.

Another thing that should be implemented is making food more filling. If I ate a steak and a loaf of bread in real life, I would be (uncomfortably) full even if I was starving before I ate it. In Minecraft, you can eat a fair few steaks before being full. I think we should make it closer to RL. This would make it easier to have some hunger left by the time you reach your destination.

The problem with this is you also have to take into account that a whole mc days is like 7 minutes, so your character is eating 3 meals in that time, as opposed to a rl 16hr day. Would you be satisfied only eating one steak and one bit of bread for the whole day? I dont think so.

I would just like to be able to place my boat when i get to the ocean and not have to swim 1500 blocks first.

There is a simple way to address this...

Add in portals that go between the capitol cities only, then have people walk wherever they are going from there. You could explain it as a rediscovery of portal magic, since in the history docs there are records of them existing.

Allow them to be manipulated by the nation leaders to allow/disallow travel from different locations. I.E. Orcs are at war with dwarves, so Orc-Dwarven teleport disabled but Orc->Elf->Dwarven would not be to allow espionage.

Then impose a shared cooldown with your soulstone.

You could also give a one minute debuff called "Out of phase" which disallows a person who teleported from effecting any of their surroundings, this is to prevent people jumping through and immediately attacking everyone.
