    • No, the map size is fine, the travel distances need to be addressed.

What about Boats, or Stagecoaches that just tp you to an area like. If your in Salvus and you want too go to Alras you go too a stable and pay 200 minas too "Rent" a horse and travel too Alras, Same if you wanted too go from orc Desert too renatus

I would love to see a boat system or fast travel system implemented. Traveling isn't too bad, but It would be helpful to have a way to get there faster. (for a price of course XD)

I like this idea, although then it would be a bit too easy to travel somewhere. Maybe not have them in every city, but possibly one in each section of the map. Example: one near the human nations, one near the dwarves, elves, and Orcs.

One thing i really think that needs to be fixed, is not being able to eat while you are fighting, that is powergaming and abusing the game mechanics, you are not going to sit there and eat a piece of steak while you are fighting someone.

You can't eat while fighting. You have to stop for about 10 seconds while you are being killed. Maybe making you stop eating if you get hit would be good but 10 seconds of being hit would probably kill you. I think that's enough reason not to eat in combat.

I would say just add boats and like caravans that you have to pay for and it will teleport (fast travel) you to the destination after like 30 seconds or a minute or so.

Probably been said, but I like boats you pay to take from place to place. Make them expensive enough that it might be worth it to walk for the majority of people. Something like 500 minas a ride. Also make the nation that wants it build their own ships in RP. Both at their own docks, and at whatever docks they want to connect to. It will limit the routes available and not let everybody have a boat that goes everywhere. If you can afford to build 2 identical boats then you should be allowed a fast travel path between them. All boats should be examined by GM's to make sure they are correct architecture and build style for the nation.

If you limit fast travel to these requirements I don't see how it could get abused really. Eventually people will realize, "I could spend 500 minas to get there now, OR I could walk, take a bit longer, and maybe make a few hundered in mob kills.

Just a thought on the matter.

:)

Another thing that I consider a Problem is that as everything is Region we can't place boats and getting to the elven capitol takes a lot of time...

I like the idea of a ferry. This would allow us to fast-travel but still could be limited by a price system, have it that ferries only travel at certain times, or maybe a combination. This would also create coastal cities which would have a tactical value in war and trade. Doing this could add a whole new aspect to the game-play.

I completely agree with zortjr. I also agree with the system of having to pay the monks for passage. That way, the boats would be rarer, because a monk would have to be in the right place at the right time, so it couldn't be abused. Also, adding coastal towns would first make the opportunity to have ocean jobs - like a sailor / captain, etc. AND it would bring a whole new aspect to RP PVP and just plain old RP.

The travel distances is what makes it worth having to stock up on food and travel around. But yes, with a map so large and because it takes so long to travel to cities across the map, i can see why some would be a little dishearten to make that trip. However, if your a true RP lover than there should be no problem of taking a 10-15 min walk to RP, the only problem is its a risk since that city you've had to boat, run, and climb mountains to get to; may be empty. But personally, i don't have a problem with the travel times. but if it is that big of an issue a fast traveling system does work, but it limits random RP on the roads.

So what i think would be a good idea is maybe a fast travel system that you implement of course with the lore. In ToM we used "void gates" and we cuboided them so that certain races could only use there own. This way one race would have to explore and walk to the other''s city. While that nation could easily travel within themselves. and then to use the fast travel system, we charged. and the players were pissed about it for a while, but it made them still use the roads; and if they really wanted to RP without the walk, they would pay the fine.

For this server, i would think a higher fee. A fast travel system shouldn't make have its downfall and consequences for the players. Maybe one from the cloud temple to each nation capitol. with members of that nation only able to take the fast travel, even after paying a toll. The structure of the map having everywhere accessible by water, would make it easy to implement a fast travel ferry system.

eh, or just keep things the way they are. It does make it more rewarding when you have to walk across the map to possibly RP.

I couldnt tell you how many times i have seen it happen, if you are not supposed to be able to eat for 10 seconds then it doesnt seem to be working, and i dont think you should be able to eat during a whole skirmish or "war claim"

The problem i see with these fast travel boats and ferrys is that you miss out on all the scenery, the travel time, and the danger of being stopped on the road, maybe if you were actually traveling on something that could be stopped by a bandit or something then sure.

I meant the eating animation takes 10 seconds, that was an over-exaggeration but you still have a lot of time to hit the person eating.
