The world around you silences as Asulon prepares for major news!

A crier from the Cloud temple bursts into the hall. Nearly doubling over from exhaustion, he hands you a crumpled parchment and catches his breath. He then straightens himself and begins to speak:

“Fellow citizens of Asulon. I have been sent by the great monks of this world to spread tidings and good news to all those that would listen. Research of the storms and winds of the sky, has shown patterns in their previously thought chaos. These patterns have proven constant, and plans are now being enacted to harness their power. Ships, grand sailing ships, are being constructed throughout the lands, in hopes of easing the pain of long journeys. Several port nations have already begun building their own vessels, and we expect many more to follow suit in the coming days.

Also, the Monks wish to inform the peoples of the land locked nations not to fret. A sturdy beast has been bred as of late, that may soon make speedy travel viable for you all. At this time they have managed to accumulate a rather good sized herd, and soon hope to utilize their quickness around Asulon.”

The crier then quickly hands similar parchments to all those around you. Hurriedly, he rushes back out the doorway, placing notices into every open hand he sees. The paper tingles with the essence of magic, and still feels warm to the touch from the numerous copy spells obviously placed upon it. It is a small map of Asulon, and marks several key points with red “X’s”. Accompanying text indicates these as proposed sites where these ships may be boarded. Most notable are the Harbor at Alras, The Port of Karik, and the docks behind Renatus.

Cheers fill the world of Asulon, as faster methods of travel have finally arrived!

No longer will your hours be spent running aimlessly through forests and deserts in search of a safe haven from monsters and bandits. No longer will the suffers of hunger leave you within an inch of death without a building in sight. Asulon has grown beyond what is reachable on foot alone. The ever expanding world around you can now be experienced in it’s entirety without needing an entire lifetime of walking to see it. Soon, very soon, the convenience of speedy transportation will be at hand… for a price of course.

For all oceanfront nations and cities that wish to venture into this mode of travel, it’s as easy as constructing a ship and employing the Monks as your ocean bound guide. They have acquired the knowledge to safely navigate the treacherous seas that surround the lands of Asulon. For those wishing to gain the services of a trusty stead, a similar order may be placed with the monks at this time. A small stable, complete with the mounts, will then be constructed at your desired location. All one need do to charter passage is pay the small supply fee and be on their way. Distances that would have taken hours and days to cross on foot can now be covered

in mere minutes.

So go forth citizens of this great land. Go forth and shout to your kin, that the days of tiresome travel are nigh. That the Monks have discovered a way to ease the feet of Asulon. The great cenobites of the Cloud Temple may be engaged in many tasks around the lands, but are never too busy to lend a hand to those that ask for help.

Seley el'then reads the paper and says quietly to himself.

"This will be very good. Hanseti and its allies will be able to gather much quicker now...."

Seley el'then walks into the Icy Fields Tavern, thinking of the possibilities this will bring.

Graven Wolfblade is intrigued. Not necessarily by the ships. As he rubs his post-pubescant chin, which is sprouting small hairs, he speaks softly.

" A beast, you say? "

Vrael thinks to himself, *This will allow me to explore the lands I have longed to see more easily than before.*

He asks a monk, "Will stables be available for private land in the Wilds, or only large towns and villages? I long to start my own small colony, but the distance to the Wilds is too great from Normandor."

Tavari replys to the monk " What about a boat at elven island? "

A monk steps forward and replies... "Yes my son. Should the Elves require their own ship they must notify the Monks at the Cloud Temple and pay the fee for port building."

((Once the patch goes live, contact a GM either by /modreq, or through these forums to set up an RP contact. Role Play asking for your nation/city/town's docks and fast travel can be yours))
