Snake Plissken 637 Author Share Posted May 12, 2012 *Notices are sent to every individual guild member by bird* Rangers, I write this letter to update you all on more recent happenings. As of earlier this week, we are now allied with the Guardians guild, and now have a guild house in their city, Glenwood. All Rangers are to pay the utmost respect to the Guardians, the citizens of Glenwood, and the laws and rules layed down there by Grandmaster Jordan. On a more solemn note, the FR Specter Sean Deschain was recently infected by plague, and ex-ranger Frost Everbloom was forced to kill him as he was going insane and threatening citizens of our old home town, Ildon. Seans body was burnt to stop the plague from spreading from his body, before his ashes were taking to the wilds where they were spread over free land, to symbolize the freedom a ranger should have. May Seans soul live on forever. Also, we are now back on reasonably good terms with the Adunians of Ildon. Rangers may only enter Ildon with my permission, and when there they must remember they come as a traveler, not a Ranger, and must respect the towns laws and citizens. -Halboron Elendil, FR Shadow. Please answer the following questions to the best of your ability- 1. You have recently raided a slave traders base along with four other Rangers, and rescued 9 slaves in the process. You set up camp for the night but only have enough food for ten people, and you cannot leave the camp as there are monsters lurking all around. What do you do? Assuming its enough food for ten with rationing, I would give most of the food to the slaves and keep JUST enough to get the other rangers and I through the night so that we can get food in the morning. 2. As you jump from tree to tree in a forest somewhere in Asulon, you see a noble looking man being help up by a bandit on the path. The noble is reaching into his pouch to hand over his money to the bandit as he is defenseless, and the bandit is holding a knife to the nobles throat, with a longsword at his side. How do you handle this situation? I shoot the bandit to knock him off balance and away from the noble, I then rush to the bandit and escort him and the noble to the nearest town. Once we get there, I hand the bandit over to the authorities 3. You and three other rangers are escorting a high profile noble through a valley near Renatus when suddenly a group of bandits ambush your unit and you are knocked unconscious. You awake to find two of your friends dead, and the remaining three of you tied to a tree. Your friends remain unconscious and you can see the man you were escorting being dragged away into the hills by the bandits. Your weapons have been take and your hands are bound but the dagger of one of your fallen comrades lies but a meter from you. How do you escape and complete your mission? I get the dagger, free my comrades. I wake one of them up to wake the other, I then go and check on the noble, if he is in danger of being killed, I create a distraction so that my comrades can free the noble. Is the guild uniform a must-do requirment, i just feel it takes away our identity in the game?. Sorry to be a pain, i would love to join, but that was my only concern. How do you handle this situation? I would jump on the bandit and hit him with the hilt of my knife in the head, If he isn't out by that I will ask the noble man to help. 3. Reach to the knife with my legs and slowly move it to my hands. I then cut myself out of the rope and run over the hill. I would throw my knife at the man dragging the noble. I creep around and look for animals to hunt, carefully fighting monsters that get too close, then--if I find one--shoot it and run back to cook the meat. 2. The noble is reaching into his pouch to hand over his money to the bandit as he is defenseless, and the bandit is holding a knife to the nobles throat, with a longsword at his side. How do you handle this situation? I draw my bow and aim at the bandit's head. "Hey!" I shout. Stop robbing this man of his valuables, or I'll have to shoot. The noble freezes, and the bandit threatens to kill the noble if I shoot an arrow. I slowly put the arrow back into its quiver. The bandit keeps staring at me so I back away, the bandit turning back to the noble. Silently, I draw my shortsword and dash forward, slashing at the surprised bandit. Pushing the bandit to the ground, I turn to the noble and hand him a spare sword. "Thank you," says the noble. I turn, pointing my sword and making the bandit surrender. 3. You and three other rangers are escorting a high profile noble through a valley near Renatus when suddenly a group of bandits ambush your unit and you are knocked unconscious. You awake to find two of your friends dead, and the remaining three of you tied to a tree. Your friends remain unconscious and you can see the man you were escorting being dragged away into the hills by the bandits. Your weapons have been take and your hands are bound but the dagger of one of your fallen comrades lies but a meter from you. How do you escape and complete your mission? I try to reach my foot out as far as I can toward the dagger, then drag it over to me. I mash my foot down on the dagger, making it fly up into my hand. I cut the bindings, then go over to my other friends, cutting the binds and waking them. We go over to our fallen friends and take their weapons, then attack the bandits from afar with arrows, closing in with blades. The bandits are defeated, and we take our weapons back. I have never been banned or had a ban appeal posted against me. Factions you have fought against: I have had one or two scraps with the orcs, but nothing else Do you have any non-combat related skills: I am a good salesman and a decent leader. I can be persuasive if you will. Why you wish to join us: I want to work for the betterment of the lands and make Asulon a better place. Questions 1.Split 2 of the rations of food into halves, give 3 of the 1/2 rations to the rangers (not including you) and 1/2 to the healthiest slave. Give the remaining rations to the rest of the slaves. Lets face it, if your man enough to join the fallen rangers, your man enough to survive the night without dinner. 2.You continue up the road and prepare an ambush for the passing bandit. If the banit is counting his money and has his guard down feel free to attack with a sword, maybe even just bind his hands and search for a bounty on him. Otherwise use a bow to disable/kill him, take the money, find the noble. And return the purse. It is a brutal solution but it may be one of the only ways. 3.Hopefully, at this point, you are nimble-handed enough to untie a knot. if so, attempt that, if not, slip off your left glove. The rope should have been knotted around the glove so that should leave a large enough gap for you to slip your left hand right out of the binds, next, using your foot, drag the dagger towards you and pick it up with your now free left hand. Use it to cut off the remainder of the knot. Depending on how far the bandits and noble are at this stage, if they are realativly close, cut open your fellow rangers binds and lay them gently on the floor. Otherwise, Leave the dagger in the hands of one of your friends. If you still have the dagger, go straight after the bandits, or else check your friends bodies for a sword or bow. Pursue the bandits. I am assuming the bandits aim is to use the noble as leverage for ransom, so your best course of action is to wait until nightfall and attack when its dark, or even just try find the noble and sneak out undetected.
