Why is this settlement choosing to become a city?

The reason for Laurelin to become a city is because we have the ample amount of support and members to go straight to a city charter. We feel we have the resources and the manpower to set our stake in Asulon as a well known city.

As the Holy Oren Empire continues to expand...The violence in the lands of Asulon continue to increase. The empire continues to take more land from the human nations, and all beings found in Asulon fear that they will be next. The sole purpose of the creation of Laurelin is to develop an area where the peace can be held.

All who wish to get away from the constant warfare will be welcomed with open arms. It will be a habitat for those innocent people who simply wish to live their lives worry-free and joyfully. It will be one of the very few tranquil locations on the map. Residents will contently live in a society where all are acquaintances are friends, and the conflicts are minimal.

What do you see this city growing to become?

We see the city of Laurelin becoming a safe-haven of those who wish to keep the peace. It will be a refuge to those who wish to keep the peace. For many scarred by the war, it will be an asylum, giving them security from the dangerous outside world.

As the outside world may continue to destroy itself with the war, Laurelin will remain intact. It will not have to rely on the power in war, for wealth. The city will be self sufficient in the matter of growth. The city’s growth will be based on the people who wish to dedicate themselves to knowledge, and hard work. The idea that knowledge is more powerful than warfare; that the pen is mightier than the sword. Laurelin’s society will work together to familiarize each other with their knowings, rather than conflict with each other like barbarians. The people of Laurelin will grow as one.

Laurelin will attempt to be one hundred percent peaceful with others, but if a time comes where the call of battle comes, Laurelin will be prepared. We will have no use in silly quibbles, and military power will be only used if necessary. The city will not fight to the death, but rather fight only to restore the peace. We will not go beyond our limits; beyond what is possible to simply gain some extra power. Laurelin will not go on conquests to gain unnecessary territory. We will only fight for what is right, peace.

How will your town evolve to adapt to this growth?

Our city will easily be able to adapt to the sudden growth simply because they only wish for one thing. Peace. There will be no conflict, which means that there will be no sudden issues. The only issues the citizens of Laurelin will face are small, petty ones that one may face on an everyday basis.

The city’s purpose is to remain completely flexible. When the time comes for the growth of Laurelin, we will configure a plan to fit the needs. We will be able to cooperate with each other to work out issues like this. If a time of shrinkage ever comes, we will adapt to the situation. If something is needed to be changed, we will come to an agreement and settle on a solution that benefits all.

Overview

The city of Laurelin wishes to become a town that will simply remain peaceful. It will be a refuge to those who wish to escape the dangers of Asulon currently going through. We will only use military power if it is ABSOLUTELY necessary. It will only be used if it is necessary to keep the peace. The society in Laurelin will be based on getting along with each other to create better lives for each other. Keeping out of all foolish, unnecessary war schemes lay the foundation of Laurelin. It shall prosper.
