Food should replenish your health. It does in real life. If you're trying to recover from poor health, good nutrition is, literally, vital. More vital than visiting a 'health' store and buying from medically unproven snake oil salesmen or whatever RP equivalent. I think it makes for unrealistic RP, and is a pity because food and farming is something we all 'get' and can relate to in real life. Magic potions made by a herbalist just takes the value away from farming and cooking and gives it instead to something else. In this case, a more unrealistic alternative.

Also, I really want the shop plugin to stay until we're ready to replace it. I think most people would agree. Can you run a poll on this and at least see what people think?

There's lots of new stuff to like about this update, I'm not trying to be negative, but these two proposals are pretty crap to someone who role plays a cook who sells FOOD in his SHOP.

Food has now become a neccesity, you no longer go down to one heart. If you're starving, you can't use bandages or seek medical help. You need food.

But, for people with 0 Herbalism, will we have to spend a large chunk of time gathering the items, such as grass, for the bandages, or will the materials for cloth bandages have a chance to drop form monsters?

If I recall correctly then sleeping in beds healed you when you slept back in Aegies if that were to be implemented again then I don't see how anyone can complain about healing and as for food. Monks, Monk Farms, Kind people and if you rp asking for food you will probably get it.

All in all an amazing update pretty pumped for this to come out.

Mobs will drop basic bandages / basic pots, and I don't there will be a shortage lol. These items are not difficult to make, even for level 0-15 herbalists.

By the way, bandanges stop blood flow from an open wound, and help keep you alive. They do NOT improve your health. Your body will heal in time naturally, provided you eat food and drink water in the meantime.

First aid is something I teach to groups in real life. I'd rather LoTC reflect reality on this - First aid and bandanges do not heal you. Nutrition does. So why are we proposing to add an unrealistic addition at the expense of real life. This is not WoW.

What about food will heal you slowly, But when used with a bangage it will incresse the spead of health re-gain?. When full hunger

But what about if you are like my character. He is undead, A lich, It would break RolePlay if I go to someone and bandage myself to get healed. . . How will this help me?

So being dead, You should not be healed, My race is even set to a Lich, To base a more RolePlay behind it, I am just wondering how the healing would work for me if the only way is to enter a shine or get bandaged up which both break RolePlay with my character

I don't understand everyone complaining about bandages. If they are easy to make and readily available they should be no more expensive than food and they make more RP sense.

Let's talk about bandages, shall we?

They don't heal wounds. The purpose of bandages are two things: Covering the wound to stop it from bleeding, and protecting it from bacteria.

Wounds need air to heal. You need to change bandages so often as to not get the wounds infected, but they still need to be exposed to air.

So by using bandages as a healing tool, you're making it more of a WoW Mechanic.

Do you purpose to add whole new mechanics just for your character? Or can you just RP that the bandages are some sort of undead equivalent, use yo brain ya doofus.

What do you purpose as an alternative? The only realistic solution is allowing **** loads of time between every time you get hurt, if you want to wait 3 real life days every time you get hit once by a zombie the leave the server, that's not fun however realistic it may be.

Resting in between combat is the most reasonable thing I can think of. It won't be THAT slow, maybe the same rate as a the type of HP regen you get from full hungerbar Followed by the use of the hunger bar, since after all, nutrition does contribute to health.
