I'm sorry. I know I can't change your mind. But I don't see a reason why anyone should play on a server when it's appealing to small children in an age group who hasn't any business here.

I can understand the sex, because certain players go too far with sexual roleplay and resort to pedophilia and beastiality, those players need to go. The sex restriction was needed. But censoring violence is not the way to go, because you just killed a lot of villains known for their graphic roleplay, for example, the perfectionist.

I'd rather see an age restriction on this server than to restrict a majority of the playerbase. Bring on the 16+ policy.

We are a server, in which almost ~75% of our playerbase is under the age of 18, and probably more than half under 15. Therefore, we need to cater to them.

I think the overwhelming message here is that people don't wan't their torture and violence messed with... Although some pretty great kids do play here this server never really has been aimed at young children and I don't think it should start trying.

My humans characters ears where cut off by the Dark Brotherhood.. such a small RP event like that has changed the RP course of my character for the better. It gave me something else to improve with and I dont see a good reason for torture being removed. Great characters like Knox and Geo will be forced into a corner where they can't do stuff they once did.

Just wondering is it still ok for disembowelment? For characters related to my character may need it for the ritual suicide known as Seppuku.

They should never have been doing any kind of torture that is comparison to Saw. When we say "extreme graphical torture", notice the graphical part - you can still disembowl people, cut their ears off, burn them and things such as that - you simply can not do it in a hugely graphical manner e.g. describing the blood, the noise and motion of the knife, etc.

When did LOTC become a game that needed to have it's own legal things and disclaimers? We are still a Minecraft server! As long as we abide by laws such as no cybering, we shouldn't have to write up all this legal stuff and act as if LOTC is a famous MMO that would get sued and shut down because someone saw something they didn't like. Maybe things like people doing it with bears and stuff was unneeded and creepy, but seeing text on a screen describing gore never harmed anyone. It's seeing gore in movies and RL that scar and really scare people, not reading it in Minecraft.

The server could quite easily be sued by an angry parent if they saw content such as what is described in the thread, and it wouldn't fall specifically on the server either - it'd fall on the head of the person who the server is registered with. Reading graphical text is on a parallel with viewing it for some people - refer to the my reply above your quote about that.

In no way are we appealing to 10 year olds however, the majority of the playerbase are still minors and the content in the post above is not deemed suitable for their viewing.

Could you expand on that? Does that mean nothing beyond sword fighting? You'd never see something like... torture in a 15 rated film.... The entire VA system would have to be changed if what I believe you mean by this is correct.

By extreme graphical violence, it refers to the content that you would see in a horror film such as Saw, or Final Destination and maybe slightly less as bad as that. Torture is still permitted, of course - as long as blood isn't flying everywhere.

Like I said in the other thread: I am going to be able to rip out a persons arm and use it as a shank (Glen ftw) like in Walking Dead? That is rated 14, so.... That's under our age.

I remember when I joined this server.. it was advertised as a mature server.

Then.. someone was offend by an ic interaction.. and we removed that.

Then there was concern for something else.. and we removed that..

then.. we became a pg13 server..

then a pg server..

This. What this is, removes a lot of detail from major villans like Knox, The Perfectionist, Jynx, the Syndicate, the Flay, Brevius and others. This single handedly kills major villan rp.

I want to go back to how it was in the AEGIAN days, when this was a MATURE server. I want to go back to when this server was on par with Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones, even Lord of the Rings, something this server obviously pulled from. Even Doctor Who has a rating of Mature for TV.

I understand the reasoning.. but.. really? You're setting the bar LOWER. NOT HIGHER.

Remove rape, yes I understand that. I understand that deeply as a rape victim. I understand removing drugs, I used to be an addict. I do understand removing extreme gore. I do UNDERSTAND IT..

So you're telling me that all of us know that we have genitals, we should be allowed to go on and on about innuendos? Trust me, I know about them. I'm sure the Staff won't mind if you just do one or two. But do some incredibly inappropriate things, and they will crack down. I believe this is more for some of the players, and no offense, that have a very low maturity level and don't have a great social filter.

This is a group of players in the thousands ranging from little children to full grown adults. The older players should be watching what they say around the younger players, and leading as a good example, exactly the same in a school or house. Those with more life experience and knowledge should know what is appropriate and what isn't.

So now if I was to make a villianous character for torture RP I can't be highly detailed and make it apporiate(No over done jobs, I make it flow) :/ I feel this restricts people far to much....heck have you seen MMORPG's clothing on the female avatars? And those have innuedo's all over the place...

For example League of Legends, "For 1.99 an hour I will leave you....breathless..." Is both a sexual innuedo if you catch it and a joke due to her abilities....the wind.
