The United Front

First, a note: This is an entirely ooc post, but I am posting here because more mali will see it than if we put it in Ideas and Lore.

 

The United Front

 

If you have visited Malinor recently as either a mali or another race, you may have noticed something. Violence wracks the streets, the murder rate is higher than Oren, people refuse to obey thier superiors, and generally, the role play sucks. A few of us have taken notice, and we are going to reform the elven race and Malinor as a whole, by coming up with lore and perhaps changing how elves act. The violence needs to stop, because Malinor cannot survive if we expend all of our energy fighting among ourselves. Malinor needs change, and our United Front, so to speak, is going to try to change things for the better. We are open to all opinions, and we want to hear from all those who play elves seriously. If you want to help, add me on Skype (vonebs) and we will see what you can contribute. This is not a venture by a single mali, but by many, and we will make sure Malinor sees to see another sunrise.

Change the way they should act, you say? Well, for one, High Elves shouldn't be so cocky and racist. Just my opinion, but the Mali of Malinor need to work together as a whole to gain strength, which they don't have when they're seperated. If the High Elves would only defend Mali'Aheral, Dark Elves only defending Mali'ker and Mali'ame, then, well, you get the point. But, the bottom line is, We Need To Work Together.   :D

How to fix this:

 

 

Have a sit-down with the headings for the Elven Kingdom. Idk how you guys do things, but plan. This can and should be done IC. This can be a simple revision of methods, or could be an entire reworking.

 

Adopt an efficient method of approach. If you have a guard force and things are still crazy, your approach is flawed or inefficient. Have no tolerance for the crazy up-start nonsense. Make example and butcher the people doing things they have no business doing.  I hate to make reference as if we're perfect, but look at the White Rose. We come in mass numbers, set up a firing line and put down the annoyance. If we can't manage the firing line, we pile on the enemy. Either way, the criminal dies or is captured.

 

 

Terms of Elf-to-Elf relations, this isn't something to be solved OOC. IC interaction needs to be done.

I'd just suggest that you emphasize the importance of culture. Have feasts, festivals, archery events, tree-plantings... Elf things. They make the experience less revolved around the 'Oren' things (just using that as an example, the one used in the OP) and more on Elf things!

My personal mantra when dealing with people who are not high elves is: "If they don't try to stab you, you don't try and stab them." I hope you can work with us in a similar fashion. Furthermore, "defending" is a pretty tough term. High elves don't have anything to defend themselves with other than a handful of mages. Fighting just isn't our thing in general. We often work and play with the other elves--maybe people just don't see us unless someone's yelling at us for being rude. :P

I am sure this server was started icly, they never used any ooc to do anything. And when the staff has an event, there is no ooc planning. We have tried solely IC, and it does not work. The definition of insanity is doing something the same way over and over and expecting andifferent result.  So, those of you who want evrything ooc, don't help, but don't try to impede us oocly either. I hope none of you paused to think that I might know what I am doing, having founded the high elf lore team, which has created some nice culture. We are trying to shift the culture away from a culture of violence, and we are going to do this icly and oocly. We have high elves from Haelun'or and without, wood elves, dark elves, forest dwarves, druids, a GM, a guide, and an FM, along with a few council members. Everyone is represented, and we all want to better Malinor.

 

Hiebe: I invented using google docs for lore teams with the high elves.

 

SuperSodaPops: We are going to be writing  up and using new ceremonies for mairages, burials, and courting. We might come up with some festivals as well

Racist might not have been the best term to use, how about "Sub-Racist"? But, yeah, I just mean that if it came to defending themselves, they couldn't hold out in a fight without dark/wood elves.

I am sure the adding of a main antagonist will ease the population of fetus-killers, Heibe.
