"We are the Monks of Arfur..
In the dark we wait, in the depths we slumber.
In our eyes we ache, in our mind we thunder.
We rise, above and before,"
the gravel's change now abhored.."

§§What are we?§§

The Monks of Arfur, to many, are not well known, their purpose itself lost on all who find them. But the truth of this is that they are those who manipulate the world, in ways not of magic, or dagger. But of tongue and wit, they are those who alter the world to a better future, and operate themselves under the guise of things such as an Iblees cult, they accept very little into their ranks, and it is known they are isolationist when it comes to their true nature, and identity. Only those who pass the trials are allowed into the order, and even then.. They function like a resistance cell, each person is separated from the other, name and all. Only the leader, and his recruiter are known by name, and addressed.

§§What is our Purpose?§§

We watch the paths, and change the gravel.. When the races of Aegis have done such a wrong that minds of such capacity as ours must be expended to repair the damage, we echo from the bowels of our past, and return to do our duty. We are known to much of our order now, as the ‘last resort’. In our very nature, and way, we are meant to ‘change the gravel’, and watch the paths. Today, of all days, when the world tears itself into pieces, a decision was made. A decision which heralded our return,  now of all times we shall change the gravel. Replace those who cause harm, aid those of need greater than our own, as is our duty, as shall it be.

§§The Origin Of our Order?§§

Our origin is old, long, and it’s very words shudder upon the strings of time, it is known now it began with a monk of the guild. Verin Etitlan, though the rest is lost to us, minus fragments kept in the commentaries of the Arfur. Only three of the five surviving the trip to Asulon, in note, this in itself causing deep loss of our history, only Verin himself holding the memories, though never telling them. Though the words themselves lay hidden, deep in the libraries of his mind, and consciousness.
[Most of it is in MC Books. Or will be, in 3.0].

§§The Tenants§§

The Tenants of the Arfur makeup the base of it's following, of no religious value, these are moral guidelines..

Of honor, and loyalty, one shalt always choose loyalties over petty pride.

Over life of a member and life of a beggar, only ours shall suffice.

None shall ever abuse another member's rights, or make thou come to harm.

You shall lay down your life in the name of loyalty, and compassion, over things of worth.

True courage is not a blade's edge, but hearth's warm.

The taking of a life is that of the greatest end, and it is all that is below us.

§§Edict of Mind's Edge§§

Day rises now on the lands we call Asulon, and our members must rejoin the hive, and know that the world shan't await  us. We return to change the gravel as before, as is now, as was in the days before. For this is the world's plight, of plague, of peasantry, of the end of hospitality. All whom heed our call must return their pledge to our order, and prepare, for a new dawn is rising, and the Arfur must stand behind it, and smile. For without us, once more shall the races of Aegis crash, and burn upon their own misery. Heed these words, brother, for a new day ever-rises, and we stand always for it, as the races are soon to find. Know this, dear brother, for the silence of night may be soon upon our eyes, and not even our tenants, nor ideals can protect us..

§§The Process of Application§§

The order itself is near impossible to join, to even be considered one must show true moral courage, low value of life, and immense knowledge to even be partially considered, in doing that, they are commonly watched, for periods varying one, to ten months. In this time, they are to continue this behavior, if such thing is shown true. They are found, usually during the night, or when alone, and spoken to by one of our listeners. Where they are to be to be given the choice of joining, or, live their life with no knowledge. Upon joining, they are sent to Verin, and their work begins. Which is usually a routine contract, to test them on their abilities.

§§OOC: Applications§§

A note, this will only grant you me, or Princetonlax watching you for a few OOC days, determining simply if you have the OOC Capacity, and role play ability to be a part of this guild. Any ‘accepted’ on an app, only shows we agree to test you.

MC Name: spychicken956
RP name: Caeden Firestock
Race: Elf
Morals, and possible character alignment:

He believes that the good of the many out way the good of the one and that bad things must be done for the greater good.
Gender: Male
Short [1-2 para] bio, must be well written:

None of Caeden's childhood is known except that he was beaten severely by his father. After he turned 16 he quickly left home and joined the Army in Laurelin fighting in many major wars and usually being sent on scouting missions in the north. As the years passed by and the more blood was shed he lost all sense of meaning so, when the elves moved to Asulon he found religion.

He wasnt a zealot or a fanatic just knew what he believed and he knew right from wrong. Eventually he wound up in the wilderness and settled down with his God and Serenity. He found meaning in the Wilds doing as he pleased and have no masters but civilization caught up to him and he was suddenly in a town. Time went on and he heard whispers and drunken stories about how the nations were collapsing into chaos and figured out what he needed to do....help the nations ay way he could. Eventually the move to Elysium came and again he found a lonely place to settle down. Caeden's story stops for years and reappears after the move to Anthos where he heard tell of the monk of Arfur.

You see a tall elf, bleeding on the road, a white rose with him, his caravan is fallen, a sword near him, and a sequel in his throat, what do you do: Caeden quickly crouches over him and gives a silent prayer for the mans soul and then slits his throat leaving the knife in the mans hand. He walks away happy that he could give the man one last peace.

You see a beggar child, coughing out phlegm on the streets, groaning,  What do you do? Caeden quickly walks over and gives the child a cup of water to stop the coughing and then gives him a large bag of mina telling him to get a good dinner and a warm place to sleep.

Notes, letters, symbols.. They all appear across Anthos. Each with a cipher. Each fallow the same basic writing pattern of the original letters, and each symbol bears a resemblance to the last. It is as though they are now wishing to be known about.. Though their name not uttered once, those who saw the original letters would know quiet simply: this was them.

The Monks of Arfur.

This current Guild has been deemed inactive and has hereby been moved.

If you wish to appeal this decision you must present evidence to myself proving the guild is still active.
