A Sad Message

A message is seen on the boards, put up by an unknown elf whose shoulders sag with weariness.  Though he looks a little familiar  you do not recognize him.  By the time you look for him after seeing the contents of the note, he is gone.

Azel Bloodseeker. Some may curse that name, others worship it. He was a leader, and one of the best of us. He came to Malinor with the goal of forcing the council to peacefully give up. He spoke logic, and was not offensive. He was one of the most intelligent of us.

Azel Bloodseeker. He was the patron of Darkhaven, one who led the Mali'ker along with Khel. He was respected, feared, and loved. He was the pillar that they all stood upon. If you have ever met him, you know why. He was one of the strongest of us.

Azel Bloodseeker. He seeked to end the threat of invasion through peaceful, diplomatic measures. He was willing to show force, and use it, but that was always his last resort. He planned to journey to the dwarves to speak. He was one of the most important Mali to the fate of Malinor.

You all know the story. I will not tell it again, for we have witnessed it every single day.

But the story is not over.

Some would say not nearly, there is much left to read. Others would seek to sever the binding and cut the tome in two.

Those who would end the story have succeeded.

I bring sad news to all Mali. Azel has disappeared, and is presumed dead.

A dwarven messenger came into Malinor, bearing a message from the stone holds. It was the desire of the dwarves to speak to Malinor officials about the state of affairs. Urasept said he would go, and was about to bid the messenger farewell, when Azel stepped in. Azel, speaking to the dwarf, said that he would also like to speak. After all, he was now a key player in the politics of the situation – it was only natural that he would. Urasept was consumed with rage at that point, thinly masking it when it was shown that more Mali supported Azel than himself.

Azel spoke to a few more Mali, and then set off to the dwarves. Urasept vanished soon after, also off for the dwarves.

Urasept arrived at the dwarves, and is holding talks with their leaders. Or, so I was told when I journeyed to the city myself, in search of Azel.

Azel never arrived there.

I feared the worst, and began to retrace the possible paths from Malinor to where I was. When I did, I discovered a patch of red grass. I was interested in it, despite the situation, and bent closer to look.

The grass was red with blood, not too long dried either. And, in the bushes nearby, there was a piece of black armor of clear dark elf make – a small piece, easily overlooked.

Black armor I would recognize anywhere.

You all know what I am saying. Azel Bloodseeker was murdered by Prince Urasept on the way to the dwarves, so that Urasept could worm his way out of the political situation like the maggot he is. I have heard him called the Butcher, before, from Mali who speak under their breath. Is this unlike Urasept? Can he provide an alibi?

I doubt it.

Even now, Urasept most likely debates with the dwarves – or returns home.
He will not expect us to know of the blood on his hands.

Listen, all Mali! Whether you liked what Azel had to say or not, this is what Malinor has become! This is why change must be had!

Azel was one of the best of us.
And now he is dead, stabbed in the back by the vengeful hand of a greedy prince who saw his new-found power slipping away.

Do we stand for such things?

I propose that when the butcher, that treacherous, power-hungry maggot Urasept, returns to Malinor...

He is to be denied entry, as any other murderer would.

The message is unsigned.

The Bird Druid sighs.

"Even in this time of crisis you try to make strife! Gah, the writer of this note is a fool indeed. We must work together, not draw each other apart! Fools, gah!"

He walks off in disgust.

Kaelin raises an eyebrow as he reads the letter.

"Dark news indeed, but to jump to the conclusion that Urasept killed Azel is as preposterous as it is foolhardy. A piece of black armour is hardly proof that Azel is dead, yet alone murdered by Urasept."

Reads the note, when he reads of the murder he pulls out a quill and paper and begins to write.
"Citizens of Malinor, this is what I had striven to remove, as you read the prince commited murder! Does his name as 'the butcher' not count for anything? This is why we made some of the council leave! This is unjust! And shall be avenged! Band together! War is upon us, and we cannot stop it! We must remove this tyrant of a prince, we must kill him, it is time we unite! We cannot have idiotic power hungry, elves who act like Vallah! Especially those with power! Talis signed hugely.

~Talis, wanderer.

((Do you intend for this to be factual? If so, you require the OOC permission of Urasept.))

((This, and you will need 4ab even if it was untrue.))

Laila happened to be going through Malinor. She stopped and sees the message and her heart sinks. Her eyes show fear as she stares at the letter. She steps back and covers her mouth. Her engagement ring glistening in the light as she stands there. Tears begin to fall as she turns and heads back to Darkhaven, the place she had helped build for Azel. As she walks away she mutters something under her breath. She will find a way to make them pay. Closing her eyes, she touches her daggers and walks on.

((factual or not, makes for some interesting RP.))

*Cole sighs, reading the note as he thinks of azel*

"Nothing but a peasant .. Not a true leader. He was a boy amongst men who thought the best idea was to bail out the other Mali. I am glad he was killed. Maybe I will have more time to think about those dreaded orcs."

*Cole walks off from the note, not saying a word but chuckles lightly.*

Please can we keep posts like this to a minimum in an RP Thread. It clogs up posts and can be seen as pointless. Thank you :)

Elorna reads over the letter, frowning seriously as she becomes increasingly distressed. She retrieves a bit of paper and charcoal pencil from her satchel and writes a short response, hands shaking as she scowls at the paper angrily.

"Lies. Slander.

Are you trying to fracture and weaken Malinor even more? Do you ikruan not understand what you're doing? Do you want to destroy the Mali with your hate and division? The other races are out for our blood, do you think this will help?

This helps no one. You are killing us from the inside. Malinor is dying, and you are pushing her into the grave.

Elorna Avern, Mali'ame of Malinor."

Elorna gives a disgusted look at the many other papers that litter the area, then holds her note up to the board and stabs it through with a sharp pin, attaching it the wood.

Eira Gwyn steps up to the note and reads it silently. She reads it over and over again, the words becoming a jumbled mess in her head. She lets out a low snarl as the words become clearer and turns at to the gathering crowd. She speaks loudly, too angry to be nervous and stutters her words.

"P...People of Malinor. You w...will stand here and r...read this a...about the person trying to s...save us from r...ruin. A 'P...Power hungry' P...Prince. Y...You may n...not know me, b...but I assure y...you I s...speak no lies. P...Prince Urasept is n...not the murderer y...you seek. Th...this letter asks f...for an a...alibi and I c...can provide one. He was w...with myself b...before his journey t...to the D...Dwarves. M...Myself and m...my child. I w...will swear it b...before Malin and all Mali, e...everyone. I c...can also v...vouch that Ur...Urasept was n...not in said Armour. Who...Whoever h...has come up w...with these, truly im...imaginative f...fantasies, I g...give you c...credit b...but they a...are f...fantasies none the less."

She shakes her head and rips the poster from the board holding it up for them to see.

If y...your g...goal is to take away th...the one who may actually s...save us f...from bloodshed and war, th...then continue your p...pathetic f...fallacy. If you w...wish for M...Malinor to be b...broken and n...nothing but an em...empty shell th...then items such as th...this-" She waves the paper around "-Is a s...sure fire way for th...that to happen."

She sighs and pins the paper back onto the board for others to read turning her head back, her nerves begining to settle as she looks at each persons face.

"I...If you w...will trust a c...cowards p...parchment, one whom c...cant even s...sign their o...own name... Th...then Malinor is t...truly gone."

With that she pushes herself away to a far standing tree, her head lowered and hands trembling.

Aislinn listens intently to Eria's statement, and he breathes a sigh of relief. He walks up to her, bowing his head a little in respect as he talks quietly.

Thank you for your words, they are true and honest. I apologize on the behalf of the short sighted Malii who have created this useless and empty slander. I hope there are more brave Mali like you who will stand up for what is right, and set aside the violent tendencies that seems to have plagued so many in recent times.

Khel returns into the trees of malinor. His hair is much shorter, up to just his shoulders. On his face small white hairs seem to be rising up. Khel stops  immediatly and reads the sign. As he reads, a very small frown crosses his face. He lets out a soft sigh, yet it is rich with a primal anger; however, what he is angery at is uncertain. He whsipers through his teeth

"It seems I am needed elsewhere"

Khel turns around, pulling his jet black horse around. He trots through the main gate of malinor and down the dark path to DarkHaven

I am back from my break
