Will vanished souls be able to be seen by vanished staff?

As an app team member, I think that all players ought to have access to the chat. From my experiences in the chat, before I was on the AT most Wandering Souls' questions were answered by non-AT members. This allows the people who are actually on the AT to gauge (in my opinion) a certain level of dedication to helping new players. Besides, there never really was a huge problem of WS being used to chat with friends. I'd say the pros of allowing it for mass-use clearly outweigh the single con. Of course, that's my opinion.

 

In other news, nice plugin, glad to have this back nonetheless :) Just think it should be accessible to everybody.

To gauge how helpful a player is, you could keep an eye on the Help channel, as a suggestion. The negatives unfortunately outweigh the positives of giving everyone access to the WS chat.

 

This is a great idea, but the problem is immediate. There are places on the server that would be pretty darn bad if people saw prematurely. Is the plugin active yet?

When I said near future, I didn't mean a few years from now, but tomorrow. :)

I'd love to see a mute command either for the AT as it was last time or for an expanded userbase. Very helpful in getting rid of spammers and general idiots. Otherwise, great to have this back.

There are a few extra features in this Wandering Souls plugin that are different from the previous one.

One of them includes a toggleable command for staff to be able to see wandering souls, so yes.

 

I'd love to see a mute command either for the AT as it was last time or for an expanded userbase. Very helpful in getting rid of spammers and general idiots. Otherwise, great to have this back.

Sometimes the banhammer from a staff member is enough. If there's a WS spammer... that would be the solution. :3

The idea behind the command is to give more staff the access to deal with trouble the moment it happens. There's not always a GM available, but there were almost always AT in the chat who could mute troublemakers. If someone does spam/swear etc. then an AT can mute, take screenshots and report to a GM, who bans.

I'm assuming wandering souls still occupy player slots on the server, yes? If so I request the plugin be turned off during major events so as to not rob legitimate players the ability to participate so some flying invisible person can explore when they are just as capable of doing so any other time. Also I request that guides, mentors (will probably need a new PEX group) and AT be able to access the Wandering Souls chat.

Please let any member of Lord of the Craft access the Wandering Soul channel.  Members of staff aren't always there, and when Wandering Souls need help, there'll be no one there to assist them.  If people are abusing the channel, simply punish them.  If they keep doing it, give them a ban.  They'll learn their lesson.  Just please don't make those who want to help out not be able to because of petty rule breakers.

Hey Bael.  Instead of the plugin being temporally turned off for events, perhaps we could have the plugin developer toggle Wandering Souls taking up server room.  It's possible.
